At the prison, approximately 380 employees and 18 managers work to manage, lead, and develop the operations. The largest professional group is prison officers, but the prison also employs administrative staff, educators, production leaders, service technicians, and more. The prison accommodates over 350 inmates who are engaged in activities such as education, treatment programs, or production within the prison.

The prison, located just outside Södertälje, is accessible by bus from Östertälje. If you drive, you can park for free in our staff parking lot. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The purpose of the Alternative Structured Activity (ASV) is to create employment during incarceration and to mitigate the negative consequences of imprisonment. Activities may be nationally established or locally adapted.

The ASV team at the prison consists of approximately 20 employees responsible for areas such as the sports hall, self-management, creative activities, crafts, and gardening. As a prison officer with a functional role in ASV, you will engage and work with the clients of the facility, primarily in groups. Job responsibilities include planning, implementing, and following up on activities within the ASV program. Collaboration with various functions and roles within the prison is a crucial part of the job.

QUALIFICATIONS

Your personal qualities are important. You need to be secure, stable, have good self-awareness, sound judgment, and integrity. The role requires high demands on your ability to interact with clients and create a supportive environment related to ASV activities. We prefer that you are creatively inclined and have the ability to inspire others. You have a good understanding of people's different circumstances and adapt your communication style accordingly. Together with your colleagues, you will drive the operations, so you need to have good teamwork skills and be clear in your communication. Additionally, you need to have the physical ability to move freely, if the situation requires.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Work experience, including seasonal work, part-time employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work do not equate to employment.
• Completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in leading groups
• Experience in crafts, creative activities, visual arts, gardening, or horticulture
• Work experience in social care, psychiatry, or educational work
• Experience as a leisure leader
