Who are we?

The Pediatric Medicine Department is an acute pediatric department within Queen Silvia's Children's Hospital with the mission to provide care, research, and education.

We care for children and adolescents aged 0-18 years with general pediatric diseases. We also receive children and adolescents who need highly specialized care such as respiratory diseases, metabolic disorders, neurology, liver, kidney, and intestinal diseases, as well as transplantation.

What will you work with?

As an assistant nurse, you will work in a team with nurses and doctors on the ward, where each profession is an equally important part of the patient's care. Together with the nurse and parents, you are responsible for the general care of the child, participating in rounds and jointly planning your shifts. One of your tasks is to assist in various procedures. You are also responsible for observing and monitoring the child's vital parameters. Your tasks also include indirect patient care such as organizing the patient's care area and cleaning it after the care period, restocking supplies, keeping the ward organized, and more. As an assistant nurse, you are also responsible for sitting vigil with patients who require this.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is a trained assistant nurse with a focus on pediatric care. Further education to become a specialist assistant nurse, particularly in pediatrics and youth, is especially meritorious.

It is desirable that you have experience working in a hospital, preferably in acute pediatric care. You feel secure in your professional role and can easily adapt to a varying pace of work. You have a professional and empathetic approach. You are structured and meticulous in your work. You should be used to taking your own initiatives and able to organize your work independently, as well as having a good ability to collaborate. We place great importance on personal qualities.
