About us

At the pediatric diabetes clinic, 600 children and adolescents aged 0 to 17 visit regularly. The goal of treatment is high quality of life, normal growth and development, and freedom from acute and long-term complications of the disease. To help children and adolescents manage their self-care, extensive education and support for them and their families are needed. We work in teams consisting of diabetes nurses, pediatric nurses, doctors, dietitians, social workers, psychologists, play therapists, and secretaries. Our diabetes team collaborates with preschools, schools, and other agencies related to the family. We educate school staff, other healthcare personnel, and students.

Job responsibilities

As a patient-responsible nurse at the diabetes clinic, you guide the child and family from the overwhelming initial diagnosis through follow-up visits, continuing to be an important piece of the puzzle until the child turns 18. In your role, you will educate and guide families so they can perform and feel confident in the treatment, stay informed about the disease, and be knowledgeable about the technical and digital aids available. You will have scheduled and urgent nursing visits that vary between physical and digital visits. The work includes telephone advice, work in the doctor's office, prescribing aids, and training preschool and school staff.

About you

We are looking for a licensed nurse with work experience in pediatric care and/or diabetes care. Specialist training in pediatric healthcare or diabetes care is an advantage. Experience in outpatient work is also desirable. As a person, you are interested in working with children and families. You are good at building relationships and instilling safety and trust. You enjoy meeting people from diverse backgrounds and circumstances. You have plenty of patience and are good at teaching others. You find it easy to structure and take initiative while also having good teamwork skills. You are interested in working with technical and digital solutions. Personal suitability is highly valued.
