Welcome to Us

We are looking for a licensed nurse who wants a summer position with us at Sätra Care and Nursing Home.

Are you eager for a varied role where you get the chance to influence and make a difference? Then this is the right opportunity for you!

We strive to create a workplace where both well-being and development are at the center. Our goal is to provide our residents with the best care, and we succeed in this thanks to collaboration between all our different professions.

Sätra Care and Nursing Home is Silviahem-certified and has a total of 120 places. The facility specializes in dementia, cognitive impairment, and Huntington's disease. Additionally, we have 24 places focused on social psychiatry and a day activity for people with dementia. Since we won Stockholm City's quality award in 2015, we have continued to develop our palliative care philosophy and improve our quality processes, with the ambition to be a leader in dementia care.

We Offer

Summer position starting in May until August with the possibility of extension.

Your Role

As a nurse, you will be an important part of the team together with managers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and nursing staff. You will be responsible for qualified interventions for the users within the unit's various focuses.

The work involves ensuring that our residents receive the care and support they need, in a team. This includes close collaboration with nursing staff, rehabilitation personnel, the medical organization, and other healthcare providers, such as in inpatient care and primary care.

You will also have a preventive focus, for example, through risk assessments and health plans, registration in national quality registers, follow-up of delegations, and handling deviations. Additionally, supervising nursing staff will be part of your responsibilities.

In the evenings and weekends, you will take a supervisory role for the entire operation, which requires flexibility, the ability to prioritize, and confidence in handling acute situations. You should feel secure in caring for individuals at the end of life.

We work according to the four cornerstones of the palliative care philosophy:

  • Teamwork
  • Relationship and communication
  • Symptom control
  • Support for relatives

You are expected to have good knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations and collaborate with medical organizations, for example, by participating in rounds, preparing medication reviews, and performing medical technical tasks as needed.

Your Competence and Experience

To be considered for the position, you need to:

  • be a licensed nurse
  • have a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written

Desirable experiences include:

  • work in elderly care, dementia care, and/or social psychiatry
  • knowledge of documentation in healthcare
  • familiarity with psychiatry and Huntington's disease

We value qualities such as teamwork, pedagogical skills, flexibility, and a positive attitude. Being solution-focused and contributing to the development of the operation is also important. In recruitment, we place great emphasis on your personal qualities, and interview questions will be based on the following abilities:

  • You can take a supervisory role and feel confident in leading nursing staff in nursing work.
  • You should be able to work independently and have the ability to prioritize, organize, and plan your tasks.
  • You should enjoy working in a team and find it easy to collaborate with different professional categories and with relatives.
  • You are secure and stable and have a holistic perspective when it comes to the operation.
  • You work towards goals, focus on results, and consider the best interests of the entire operation when you act and make decisions.
  • You contribute new ideas and thoughts that can be implemented in the operation.
  • You also contribute to good collaboration by having an open, accommodating, and problem-solving approach.

Other

In your application, we would like you to attach a personal letter where you can describe:

  • when you obtained/will obtain your license and from which educational institution
  • how and to what extent you have worked with the desirable requirements that you fulfill
  • describe your leadership qualities
  • motivate why you have applied for this position.

Interviews may be conducted on an ongoing basis, so do not hesitate to submit your application!

The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thereby counteracting discrimination.
