Job Responsibilities

You will work on reducing tire wear and emissions from tire wear in the form of inhalable particles and microplastics.

The project is a collaboration between KTH, Karolinska Institute, and the Swedish automotive industry. Your tasks will include being responsible for and conducting experimental studies in the laboratory and at full scale of tire and road wear. Additionally, you will study wear in the form of inhalable airborne particles and microplastic particles that can migrate into nature.

Qualifications

Required

PhD degree or foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled by the time the employment decision is made.
Experience in experimental work, especially tribological materials, component and full-scale testing.
Experience in measuring wear-generated airborne particles

Meritorious

At the application deadline, no more than three years since obtaining a PhD or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD.
Experience in measuring wear, friction, and airborne particles in parallel.
Experience using impactors to collect particle emissions on filters and analyze the chemistry of airborne particles
Experience in chemical mass balance analysis of airborne particles
Ability to communicate scientific results verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English, as we use both languages as our working language.
We appreciate your ability to work independently and in a group with others both in the laboratory and in full-scale experiments on various test tracks in Sweden.
Awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality
