We are currently four hospital physicists with an office in radiology in Falun. Hospital physics is an integral part of the radiology clinics in the region, which allows for many social contacts. We also have close collaboration with medical technology. 

The assignment includes radiological diagnostics, dental care, intervention, nuclear medicine diagnostics and therapy, as well as MRI in the region. Hospital physics also staffs the radiation protection expert function for the Dalarna region.

In the coming years, Region Dalarna will invest in MRI, including the installation of two new 3T cameras.

Hospital Physicist Medical Imaging and Functional Medicine Dalarna

Job Responsibilities

As a hospital physicist, you will work closely with the clinical operations with your own modality responsibility. We plan together each semester and assign modality responsibilities based on interest and competence, creating a dynamic work environment aimed at building broad competence within hospital physics. Routine tasks such as annual checks, dose measurements, and quality work are interspersed with your own projects, seminars, and training. Hospital physics also collaborates broadly with other professional categories through modality and optimization groups.

For new employees, there is an introduction program and tasks are distributed in consultation with colleagues. In Region Dalarna, there is also the opportunity to participate in ST training for hospital physicists.

The positions are located in Falun, but you will be moving throughout the entire region.

Requirements

• You are a hospital physicist with Swedish authorization or at the end of your education
• You need to have a driver's license category B and experience driving a manual car, as the work involves travel throughout the region.
• You have the ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

Meritorious:

• You have experience with MRI.

Personal Attributes:

• You have an interest in working broadly, with tasks across multiple modalities.
• As we are a small work group, it is required that you want to work in a team and can step in for colleagues when needed.
• You are responsible and can take your own initiatives, work structured, and can drive your tasks to completion on your own.
