Sagobygden is run by the non-profit organization Berättarnätet Kronoberg, which is Sweden's oldest storytelling association and conducts a unique operation.
Our foundation is to secure oral storytelling as part of a living cultural heritage. We work to spread knowledge about folk tales, legends, and folk poetry. We organize the Nordic region's oldest annual storytelling festival, Sagobygden's music and storytelling festival, featuring artists from all corners of the world. We operate the Story Museum and the legend sites within the municipalities of Ljungby, Alvesta, and Älmhult. We collaborate with national and international cultural institutions and have several international projects. Since 2014, Berättarnätet Kronoberg has been a UNESCO-accredited association for intangible cultural heritage, and in 2018, Sagobygden was included in UNESCO's register for “Good Safeguarding Practices.” Sagobygden aims to be an international arena for oral storytelling.

At Sagobygden, you will have the opportunity for an exciting and varied job. We are a creative workplace where much is happening simultaneously. Your tasks will therefore be varied, such as producing Sagobygden's music and storytelling festival, coordinating projects, writing project applications, and assisting the operations manager as needed.
You are a meticulous administrator and can meet deadlines. You will work independently and in collaboration with other employees. Local and regional travel is common, and evening and weekend work may occur as needed. The position is located in Ljungby at the Story Museum.
We are looking for someone who is engaged, has experience in production and project management. It is important that you have financial knowledge, either from education or from experiences that we consider equivalent. You should be able to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English. You should enjoy writing project applications. Experience in storytelling or the theater world is an advantage. You also have the skills to manage social media, apps, and other digital solutions.
We believe that you are creative, have the ability to come up with solutions, and see things from different perspectives. If you are responsible, independent, and also enjoy collaborating with others, you will thrive working with us. In the role of producer and project coordinator, you need to be structured, keep track of planning, and be flexible during periods of high workload. We place great importance on personal suitability.
