City Health Center is looking for two new colleagues
We at City Health Center are looking for two new colleagues and welcome you to apply to our workplace.
The health center has a forward-looking spirit and a well-documented good atmosphere, an open and unpretentious climate, and well-functioning collaborations within and between professional groups. We maintain high quality in what we do for our patients and have the attitude that everyone is equally valuable.
Our Offer
Primary Care Center Östergötland consists of 33 region-operated health centers, four emergency centers, Health Center Finspång, the child health care unit, 1177, and a general medicine training center. We conduct a broad primary care operation where we offer care to everyone throughout life; newborns, children, adolescents, adults, the elderly, and patients at the end of life.
We are a forward-looking organization with a strong focus on good working conditions, development, and health. We actively work to create conditions for sustainable work life while having a development-inspired approach to meet future challenges in primary care. With us, there are good development opportunities for those who want to advance in their profession, become a manager, or move forward in other ways, such as through specialization or research.
City Health Center is centrally located in the old hospital area in Norrköping. The health center is operated by Region Östergötland, has about 14,500 registered residents in a mixed population, and approximately 70 permanent employees, which means we have a broad staffing in the various professions.
The health center focuses on working behaviorally through the integration of psychological and somatic competence through the concept of Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH). We have been working on this for several years and also conduct research in the field. The goal is to collectively work throughout the health center to increase many patients' functional levels and quality of life and to enhance patients' ability to manage their issues. We also work to increase preventive efforts and avoid medicalization.
We are an academic health center with a growing engagement in research across several professions. Other focus areas include elderly health/our elderly care clinic, training of younger colleagues, e-health, and we are now also an HBTQI-certified health center. Currently, we do not have a designated doctor specifically for the elderly care clinic, so there is also an opportunity for you if you are interested and knowledgeable in that area. We have medical responsibility for two special accommodations and an organization with weekly home care rounds. The structure of the health center is good, which facilitates daily work.

Job Description
As a general specialist, you will work with your clinic as is customary with different types of appointments. There is also in the schedule a so-called “own booking” where you can make a decision on whether you need the time for patient bookings or administration, thus gaining influence over your time. We are also otherwise responsive to your wishes regarding the schedule. Remote work in a limited capacity is also an option. We work with flexible hours. On-call duties are included in the assignment. Cosmic is our working tool.
If you are interested in research, this is a good workplace for you. If you are interested in geriatrics, there are also opportunities for you, see above. You will, of course, receive an introduction so that you have the best conditions for your assignment.
Work Group
We have 8 general specialists, 2 retirees, and 1 professor in internal medicine. We have several resident doctors and 7 specialist training doctors.
About You
You are a specialist in general medicine or geriatrics. Previous work experience in primary care in Östergötland is an advantage. Experience in research work is also an advantage. You speak Swedish fluently and have at least level C1.
You are attentive and enjoy collaborating. You appreciate patient interactions and see the whole picture. You work responsibly with good quality and see the benefits of continuity and patient-centered care. You can also plan, organize, and prioritize your work. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability for the position.
Application and Employment
The employment is permanent at 100% (two positions), starting as soon as possible and with access by agreement. If you are interested in working solely with geriatric patients, that is also an option.
The application should include a complete filled-out merit summary for doctors which you can find here. This should be verified. Don’t forget to also attach a copy of your diploma or license.
We work with ongoing selection, so please submit your application as soon as possible. Before employment in a patient-facing role within Region Östergötland, you will need to fill out a form (https://ledsys.lio.se/Document/Document?DocumentNumber=54500).
Warmly welcome your application! If you need help registering in the system, contact customer service Support and Service, 010-103 60 00, during office hours.
To staffing, placement, and recruitment companies and to you as a seller: We kindly but firmly ask for no direct contact with staffing, placement, and recruitment companies as well as other external actors and sellers of additional job advertisements. Region Östergötland has contracted agreements.
