Business Description

In March 2019, Gällivare Municipality opened Aurora Preschool in the area near Tallbacka Preschool. It consists of four departments close to inspiring forest and nature. We are now looking for an active childcare worker who is passionate about developing a preschool where children and staff thrive and grow together. The departments are placed in pairs within the building, and the groups are age-divided from 1-3 years in one corner of the building and 3-5 years in the other. In the middle of the preschool, there is a square that serves as a natural meeting place for play and exploration for the entire facility. The preschool has a yard that creates great opportunities to work with nature and outdoor environments as an important part of the children's learning environment. You will be part of a work team that collaborates between departments to actively develop learning environments where children's influence, exploration, and learning are at the center, and where collegial learning is a given. It is the children's own interests and abilities that should guide the operations, promoting the opportunity for all educators to work collaboratively with the children.

Job Responsibilities

As a childcare worker, you, along with the rest of the team, are responsible for participating in planning, implementing activities, and reflecting within the team, as well as carrying out systematic quality work in collaboration with other colleagues and teams at the preschool. The children should be given new challenges and receive support and stimulation for their development and learning.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a childcare education. We seek someone who wants to be part of developing our exciting operations. It is important that you are well acquainted with our governing documents. Our mission is based on the Curriculum for Preschool 2018. You are a clear leader, independent, responsible, and have a knack for taking your own initiatives. Of course, you are positive and have faith in the children's competencies and want to develop their abilities. You are interested in using digital tools and care about building trusting relationships with children and parents, as well as having good collaboration skills. You are happy to use pedagogical conversations and documentation in your work or are willing to learn more about it. You are interested in developing the preschool and, among other things, the learning environments. Personal suitability is of great importance.

Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for a position in Gällivare Municipality.

Working Hours/Duration
