The meal service in Eksjö Municipality is part of the Municipal Executive Office and consists of around 70 employees and 25 kitchens. Meals in preschools and schools provide children and students, regardless of background, with good chances for healthy eating habits. Good and healthy meals are an important part of the work for equal health. Food that reaches the stomach provides energy to develop, play, and learn. Meals also have great potential to promote good eating habits and a healthy attitude toward food.

Jordgubbsbacken is a newly built preschool located south of Kvarnarp in Eksjö. The preschool opened in August 2023 and has six departments with space for 100 children.

The kitchen at Jordgubbsbacken is a modern production kitchen that prepares the main components for two additional units, Slottets Preschool and Stocksnäs Preschool.

JOB DUTIES

As a chef, you will plan, prepare, and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily to our guests, who are children and educators, together with your colleague.

As a chef at the preschool, you will help spark children's interest in flavors and ingredients, creating joy and satisfaction around meals. Meals are an important part of the day at preschool, and your work contributes to lifelong positive values regarding food, environment, and health.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a culinary education or equivalent.

You should have a few years of experience in the profession, preferably in preschool kitchens, and need to have knowledge of special diets and self-control.

As a chef, you will have daily contact with children and staff. Therefore, it is important that you have an interest not only in food, environment, and health but also in children and the educational activities conducted. As a person, you are creative, responsible, and have a knack for building good relationships. You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as be able to handle IT tools to, for example, order goods.
