About Us

The psychiatric reception in Eskilstuna is a general psychiatric outpatient clinic in Eskilstuna. We are part of the psychiatric clinic at Mälarsjukhuset and collaborate with the clinic's psychiatric emergency reception, addiction center, psychosis activities, and inpatient wards. The reception is located in the city center and within walking distance from the train station. The reception consists of about 60 people with different professions and treatment orientations. The reception is divided into five different teams: the ADHD team, the Bipolar team, the team for extended psychiatric interventions (UPI), and General Psychiatric teams 1 and 2.

Our goal is to be a reception with an open atmosphere, where creative discussions based on different therapeutic perspectives and forms of treatment have a natural place. Within the clinic, there are 9 occupational therapist positions, distributed across the different receptions. There is also a shared occupational therapy room for group activities. There is a collegial collaboration for method development and discussion of profession-specific issues. The occupational therapist's professional role is well established in the clinic, and assessments and interventions by occupational therapists are often requested.

Your Responsibilities

To conduct occupational therapy assessments, investigations, and treatments. Motivate and support patients through their rehabilitation. Lead groups and further develop the occupational therapy group activities. Rehabilitation groups, Ha Koll, and BEL (Balancing everyday life). Assess needs for and trial assistive devices. You will work in interdisciplinary teams, but also independently. The work requires active collaboration with, for example, the Social Insurance Agency, the Employment Agency, and the Municipality. Documentation is done in NCS-cross, but a transition to Cosmic is planned for the fall.

You will participate in, and are expected to be interested in, close collegial collaboration with other occupational therapists, which also allows for a well-adapted introduction.

Your Qualifications

You are a licensed occupational therapist. Experience in psychiatric rehabilitation is desirable, but above all, an interest in helping people find strategies for a functioning everyday life. Education in PRPP is an asset. Trained in, or interested in leading groups. We welcome both experienced and newly graduated occupational therapists to apply. We place great emphasis on personal qualities and collaborative skills.
