We are looking for a system developer

We are looking for a system developer for our search team within information and archiving. You will develop and maintain the search platform and search functions on websites, focusing on Lucene-based solutions such as Elasticsearch. We are modernizing by migrating data and developing Java Spring Boot applications. The interface is managed in Optimizely, and the frontend is modernized with React. For search analysis, we use Kibana with Elasticsearch.

Your mission

We are looking for an experienced Java back-end developer. You will apply user requirements to drive development forward, participate in testing and demos before deliveries, and provide support.

You will be an important part of projects around the search platform, intranet, and external web. Your tasks include:

• Developing code and participating in planning.
• Reviewing and checking the components of the search platform.
• Using user requirements for development work.
• Providing support and troubleshooting errors.

We want to build a search platform that:

• Is modern and future-proof and supports AI-based search solutions.
• Is scalable for future needs and has a modern reliable operating environment.
• Is an information hub, so that VGR can use one and the same search service instead of building parallel search solutions for web pages, applications, apps, chatbots, etc.

To succeed in the role, you need:

• Relevant academic education in the IT field or equivalent competence.
• Experience in application development and code management.
• Experience in Java, front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), and React.
• Experience in search solutions and Elasticsearch.
• Experience in agile work and collaboration with IT teams.
• Good ability to translate user requirements into technical solutions.
• Very good ability to document, present, and follow up, as well as proficiency in Swedish in speech and writing.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

• Experience with Solr, Kubernetes, Kibana, and Grafana.
• Experience with the Spring Boot framework and Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integration tests with Cucumber & Gherkin.
• Experience working within Västra Götalandsregionen.
