Mölndal City has a centralized organization for IT and digitalization, which belongs to the City Management Administration. The department is designated as the Digitalization and IT Department. The department is divided into two units: IT Operations and Support, and Development and Management, along with a staff for strategy, analysis, and follow-up.

The Digitalization and IT Department continuously handles a variety of cases that are registered, analyzed, and prioritized to be processed depending on the nature of the case. Among the larger inflows of cases are orders for products, services, and functions, as well as requests for technical service and support.

This position is located in the IT Operations and Support unit, which is responsible for daily operations and focuses on customer benefit, as well as meeting the city's needs for a well-functioning and stable network and server environment. The unit is also responsible for providing good support to the city's users and supplying them with the necessary equipment to perform their work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a Network Technician for the IT Operations and Support unit, which consists of about 20 employees. Examples of work areas within network technology include troubleshooting, monitoring, maintenance, case management, and support. The role of the network technician is part of the organization where you, together with your colleagues, support operations with network-related support.

The position requires you to be physically present to travel to the various operations we support. Therefore, a B driver's license is also required.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with education in network technology and relevant work experience in network technology.

We want you to have good knowledge and experience in:

• Routing / Switching - Configuration and troubleshooting
• VPN
• Network protocols & technologies - TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN
• Wireless networks - configuring and managing wireless networks (WLAN) and Wi-Fi solutions
• Fiber - Fiber optic connections, including patching, handling SFP modules, and working with both singlemode and multimode CWDM systems. Troubleshooting and maintenance of fiber optic networks
• Cybersecurity - For work within networks
• Automation - Streamlining and automating workflows using scripting in 'Python'
• Security and monitoring - Understanding security practices and familiarity with monitoring tools for operational reliability, such as Zabbix or Splunk

Knowledge in the following is advantageous:

• ITIL framework
• Juniper
• Mikrotik - 4G-5G router
• Firewalls
• Linux - Network administration in Linux environments
• Server environments and virtualization - Windows Server functions

If you also have certifications, this is a merit.

You have a strong interest in data communication and enjoy taking responsibility for staying updated in the technology field. You see it as a given to share your knowledge and experience within the group and are a team player. You have good communication skills, and we see that you write and speak fluently in both Swedish and English.

As a person, you have good initiative and drive. You are organized and engaged and have a knack for creating understanding of how cases are handled, where documentation is also a natural part of this work. Furthermore, you are adept at seeking information to provide good service and support.
