Katarinagården's care and nursing home is newly renovated and centrally located in Södermalm with proximity to good transport links.

There is space for 55 care recipients with both somatic and dementia-related illnesses who need security and support in their daily lives.

As a nursing assistant/care assistant, you will have scheduled working hours during the day, evening, and weekends (working hours vary between 7 AM and 9 PM depending on the shift day/evening/weekend). You should be able to work at least 4 consecutive weeks during the period of June to August.

We are also looking for those who would like to work nights.

We are six care and nursing homes in Södermalm under our own management, and we collaborate to work as uniformly as possible, person-centered with the individual at the center.

We offer – a summer in Söder

To make you feel welcome with us and to learn our routines, we have an introduction program where you will receive both theoretical and practical training.

In our method room, you will practice alongside experienced colleagues, supervisors, and vocational teachers. Everyone is welcome to the method room, both those who are very experienced and those who are new to the profession. Here we train in collaboration in all aspects - care, CPR, medication management, reporting, documentation, lifting techniques, and practice with various aids. On the department, you will have a supervisor who will guide you and who you will shadow during your first shifts. During the summer, there is always regular staff on duty for all shifts. Introduction days will take place on June 2, 3, 9, and 10.

Your role

As a nursing assistant and care assistant, you will become part of our team with nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, contact persons, and activity coordinators. We work together based on assistance decisions, with clear implementation plans for each person living here.

Together, we offer the residents high-quality care and support every day, as the elderly wish. Your tasks include helping and supporting the elderly in their daily lives; with hygiene, cooking and baking, cleaning, companionship, and outdoor activities - based on each person's own wishes. During the summer, we are often outdoors if the weather permits, in our garden or on walks in Tanto and by Årstaviken.

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for you who meet one of the following requirements:

• high school or vocational education in care and nursing (degree or ongoing)
• ongoing studies in nursing or medical program
• other education or experience that the employer assesses as equivalent.

You also have:

• knowledge in care and nursing work
• good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
• computer, mobile, and system familiarity as documentation and reporting are part of the job
• at least 18 years old.

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience working in elderly care
• experience working in care and nursing.

• Cooperation skills: You have good cooperation skills and are happy to share your own knowledge and experiences and are open to learning from others.

About the recruitment process

You apply by attaching your CV and answering some selection questions. Attach your relevant education and work certificates when registering your application. We continuously review applications and provide quick feedback to you via email and SMS. Since we communicate with you through email and SMS, we ask you to also keep an eye on your spam folder (emails can sometimes end up there) and respond as soon as you can. If you are called for an interview, it will take place digitally via Zoom. Prepare two references, at least one of which must be a supervising manager. If you proceed after the interview and reference check, you will be scheduled for a meeting with the organization. An agreement on the work period, introduction, and salary will be made with the responsible manager in the organization. We may request an extract from the criminal record. To be employed as a nursing assistant, a certificate of protected professional title is required. If the certificate is missing, you will be employed as a care assistant.
