IT Strategist for Social Services in Piteå

Job Responsibilities

As an IT strategist in the Social Services, you will have a leading role in our digitalization efforts and our operational development supported by digital technology. You will also be our representative in the digitalization work shared with the municipality. Together with other functions in the administration, you will be responsible for understanding needs and identifying improvement opportunities where digitalization can be beneficial. An important part of the job is environmental monitoring related to systems and technology within Social Services operations. You will participate in requirement work, procurement, and orders within IT/digitalization and represent the administration in various regional and national projects and networks.

Part of the assignment involves being responsible for coordinating the administration's work with information security and, in collaboration with other functions within Social Services and the municipality's data protection officer, support the organization in matters concerning data protection (GDPR) and act as the administration's data protection coordinator.

To succeed in this role, you should be proactive and view things from a holistic perspective, be able to guide and inspire employees and managers, and have the ability to immerse yourself in and understand our operations. Your knowledge should, over time, encompass many different operations and legislative areas related to Social Services to understand the challenges and connect this to development opportunities based on your area of expertise. The role requires contact and collaboration both with other units within Piteå municipality and external partners.

Qualifications

You have an academic degree or higher education relevant to the role. You have experience leading operational development projects using IT, preferably at a strategic level, can perform needs and requirements analysis, and have knowledge of IT systems and IT architecture, preferably within the public sector or a larger organization. Previous experience in change management and implementing skills-enhancing initiatives is desirable. As a person, you are self-driven and results-oriented with the ability to solve problems analytically. You find it easy to collaborate and understand how digitalization affects work methods and processes. The role requires many internal and external contacts, which requires you to be a good communicator, both verbally and in writing.

More about the position

The position is part of the Social Services department's Operational Support division, which gathers the central support resources of Social Services. The position is a permanent employment at 100%, working hours 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with the possibility of flexible hours. There is also an opportunity for remote work. Piteå municipality offers wellness benefits during working hours or wellness grants, as well as the possibility of vacation exchange.
