Department Head for Finance and Consulting

The position is located within the area of authority services. The area consists of approximately 450 employees distributed across the departments of payroll, finance and consulting, customer meetings, service development and connection, as well as system management.

As the department head, you report to the area manager and are part of the area's management team. Within each department, there are several unit managers who report to the department head and are part of your management team for the department.

Main Responsibilities

As the department head for finance and consulting, you are responsible for the production of services regarding accounting, e-commerce, and consulting assignments, and you have the ultimate delivery responsibility for the operations. The future direction regarding the finance service includes a continued transition of connected authorities to our standard service and further automation of processes to strengthen a qualitative and cost-effective delivery.

Regarding the consulting operations, the ambition is to ensure a more streamlined financial consulting service that is not confused with ongoing accounting in the finance service.

Your assignment also includes developing the entire consulting area in accordance with the strategic plan for administrative services.

You are responsible for personnel, work environment, results, and budget, ensuring that production is conducted with high quality, high efficiency, and cost awareness. The operations are currently conducted in the locations of Stockholm, Gävle, and Östersund.

As the department head, you work to ensure that the work environment is characterized by joy, efficiency, and accuracy through a coaching and engaging leadership style. You also ensure that there is a clear communicated link from your tasks to the agency's overall goals and missions.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Relevant academic degree or equivalent experience deemed comparable
  • At least five years of experience in operations (Accounting, e-commerce, consulting) with production responsibility.
  • At least five years of experience as a manager
  • Experience in leading managers
  • Experience working with production processes
  • Experience establishing and developing collaborations with other actors
  • Experience in remote leadership
  • Experience leading through change

Furthermore, you should have the following abilities:

  • Good leadership ability based on a trust-based approach
  • Effectively communicate the whole and long-term goals for the operations to employees
  • Effectively communicate externally and be the face towards customer authorities

Additionally, it is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience from working in public operations
  • Experience working with competence supply
  • Experience in consulting operations/consulting assignments
  • Experience leading in a high pace of change

Other

The employment is 100% and permanent. We usually apply a six-month probationary period. The position is located in Gävle, Stockholm, or Östersund. This position requires a security clearance approved according to the security protection act. As an employee, you may also be placed in a war situation based on the needs of total defense.
