Environmental and Sustainability Manager – Shape Our Sustainable Future

About the Role

As the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, you will have overall responsibility for developing and implementing ISO 14001 in our operations and establishing a management system that supports our ambitious environmental goals. You will work both strategically and operationally, initially focusing on production but also across other parts of our business and value chain, including primary production.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Certification and Environmental Management: Lead and implement ISO 14001 certification and ensure that our processes meet the standard's requirements.
• Legislation and Standards: Ensure that the company complies with environmental laws and regulations and implement necessary changes with new standards.
• Product and Packaging Development: Drive sustainability issues within product and packaging development in collaboration with commercial teams.
• Collaboration and Integration: Work closely with quality, technical, and maintenance departments as well as the group's environmental and sustainability department to integrate sustainability issues throughout the organization, including sister companies.
• Presentation and Reporting: Design and present reports on our environmental and sustainability efforts to both customers and employees. Coordinate the implementation of the group's 2030 goals and follow up on action plans and results. Regulatory reporting is conducted at the group level by the environmental and sustainability department.
• Training and Engagement: Raise awareness and knowledge about sustainability by educating and engaging managers and employees.

To ensure effective implementation and follow-up, we expect you to be present at our production facilities about 4 days a month, primarily in Valla, but also in Flyinge and Väderstad. You will work closely with quality, maintenance, and technical departments, as well as collaborate and receive support from the group's environmental and sustainability department and colleagues in our sister companies. You will report directly to our Chief Marketing and Sustainability Officer (CMSO).

About You

We are looking for someone with an academic background in environmental science, sustainable development, or similar, or equivalent work experience. You are fluent in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and have good knowledge of the Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. You have experience in leading and implementing environmental management systems, especially ISO 14001, and a good understanding of environmental legislation and the ability to translate these requirements into practical actions.

As a person, you are structured, analytical, and self-driven, with the ability to inspire and engage your colleagues. You build trust and long-term relationships both internally and externally, and you are confident in making decisions in complex situations. You possess strong communication skills and are accustomed to creating and presenting reports and strategies for various target groups.
