The Role of the Nurse

As a summer substitute nurse, your job will involve participating in planning, leading, and organizing nursing work together with patients and other professionals. We work individually tailored with the patient in focus.

The work is varied and stimulating, where no two days are alike. As a nurse, you will develop through the multifaceted tasks that the broad medical acute care entails.

We know that it is not always easy to be new on the job, and therefore we do our utmost to ensure that you feel safe, excited, and prepared for your summer job with us. Before you start working in the organization, you will receive a thorough introduction based on your needs and experiences.

The summer jobs are temporary full-time positions. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. We need substitute nurses during weeks 24-32. It is an advantage if you can work many or all of the weeks. We view positively if you have the opportunity to shadow during the spring.

For those who continue their employment after the summer, we offer you the chance to participate in one of Sweden's best introduction and development programs for newly educated nurses - RIU. The program includes 20 full days spread over eight months with lectures, internships, and reflections. RIU gives you the opportunity to meet other nurses in the same situation where you can exchange experiences and provide each other with advice and support.

Your Future Workplace

The Medicine and Geriatrics Clinic is the largest clinic at Värnamo Hospital with many services under the same roof. We have three inpatient care units with different focuses on medical specialties. The clinic also has outpatient care that includes medical day care and the dialysis unit. Our outpatient services encompass all medical specialties.

We are looking for 2 licensed nurses for these summer jobs.

As a person, you are calm, stable, and able to adapt to the various circumstances that often prevail in a hospital. Since you will be working in a team, we appreciate that you are cooperative and attentive to both colleagues and patients. We place great importance on personal suitability.
