The Welfare sector spans several different areas within Gävle Municipality, such as care units, adult education, social services, the labor market unit, and the unit for daily activities. We work to provide residents with a good living environment. The administrative support function includes both custodians and the staff group that assists with internal services in various areas and levels.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a custodian with us, you will play a key role in ensuring that our premises and surroundings are in excellent condition. Are you a proactive person who is not afraid to tackle tasks and has an eye for detail? Then you are the one we are looking for for this custodian position, where you will help us make Gävle even more pleasant!

Your main responsibilities will include the maintenance and upkeep of the properties' interior and exterior areas, minor repairs and maintenance work, waste management and recycling, as well as other tasks of a custodial nature. The position includes some heavy lifting, such as moving furniture in our buildings and residences, so you need to be physically fit.

In your role as a custodian, you will handle fault reports and work orders and collaborate closely with your colleagues in the custodian group within our sector. Your workday will be varied and require you to act effectively, especially under time pressure and in populated environments. The ability to work independently and in a team is important, as well as attention to detail and structure. Good administrative skills and excellent communication and collaboration skills are qualities we highly value.

QUALIFICATIONS

For this position, we are looking for someone with a high school education in a practical field such as construction, electrical, technology, or similar. Alternatively, you may have an education in property maintenance or several years of experience in the custodial profession. Previous work experience in custodial work or property maintenance is a basic requirement to qualify for this position.

Your knowledge of the Office suite is strong, and you are familiar with the world of technology and can work systematically, independently, and in a team. Using a computer and mobile phone as tools in your work is something you are comfortable with. You should have a good command of Swedish and English, and knowledge of other languages may be an advantage.

As travel by car is part of the job, you are required to have a B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle and a safe driving record. We will obtain a criminal record check from the Police for this position, as you will be visiting these workplaces as part of your duties.
