The temporary staffing unit is part of the HR department and is responsible for covering the short-term staffing needs for all operations within Region Gävleborg. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The work as a nursing assistant is varied, exciting, and educational. The tasks vary depending on which department, clinic, or health center you work at. You will work closely with patients in close collaboration with the nurse.

As a nursing assistant in psychiatry, you will primarily work with:

• Preventing the spread of infection through basic hygiene routines and dress codes
• Participating in planning, implementing, and following up on care measures, both psychiatric and somatic in nature
• Participating in the establishment and follow-up of the patient's care plan
• Contributing to the patient's involvement in their care and treatment
• Contacting and collaborating with the patient's relatives
• Collaborating with other units and care neighbors
• Documenting

As a nursing assistant in healthcare, you will primarily work at a health center or with somatic care. You will perform tasks such as:

• Preventing the spread of infection through basic hygiene routines and dress codes
• Monitoring the patient's vital parameters
• Preventing pressure ulcers and falls
• Monitoring the patient's nutrition and oral health
• Wound care
• Mobilizing the patient
• Venipuncture
• Documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

In the role of nursing assistant with us, you need to be stable and maintain control in acute situations. Interaction and communication between you, the nurse, and the workgroup are crucial in ensuring good health for the patient. You need to be flexible and able to quickly adapt to changing circumstances.

Having good initiative, showing interest, and thus being helpful are important qualities for succeeding in the role of nursing assistant with us. Additionally, you need to be a secure person and work with a strong focus on basic and safe care. You have an ethical approach and convey security in uncertain situations.

In the role of nursing assistant, you should:

• Have a high school diploma in health and care or have completed the third semester of nursing education
• Have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
• Have good computer skills as documentation is done digitally
• Not have another employment of more than 50%. Exceptions are made if you have ongoing healthcare education
• Be able to work at all hours of the day and all days of the week

We prefer that you have experience working in healthcare.

Information about the title nursing assistant:

As of July 1, 2023, the title nursing assistant became a protected professional title. This means that you will need proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within care and nursing. You can apply for the proof starting July 1, 2023. If you do not have proof, you can continue to work in care and nursing, but with a different title than nursing assistant. In Region Gävleborg, this means that the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until your proof is submitted.

Information about the recruitment process:

For work performed in psychiatry and in direct and regular contact with children, a police record extract must be presented before the start of employment.

Since selection and interviews will be ongoing, we recommend that you submit your application with attached grades/diploma from nursing assistant training or proof of protected professional title as soon as possible!
