The after-school program is an important part of students' development and learning. To support the development work and create opportunities for increased quality, we are now choosing to appoint a development teacher within the after-school program. In parallel with the regular position at the after-school program, the development teacher will have a targeted mission to lead the school's systematic development work within the after-school program together with and on behalf of the school management. Sjömarkenskolan is a calm and pleasant F-6 school that will have approximately 450 students this fall. The school's after-school program consists of four departments: preschool class, grade 1, grade 2, and grades 3-6. We who work at Sjömarkenskolan are collectively responsible for ensuring that each individual student develops comprehensively based on their conditions as far as possible. We do this by working for students' health and safety, and by constantly learning new things to develop and improve our operations. The school has recently been rebuilt and renovated, which means that the activities are conducted in nice and fresh premises. If you do not have a car, you can easily reach us by bus that stops right outside the school.

Development Teacher within the After-School Program at Sjömarkenskolan

Job Responsibilities

As a development teacher, you will have a targeted mission that means you will lead the school's development work within the after-school program together with the school management.

• You show commitment and a genuine interest in working in the after-school program and drive collegial collaboration around development processes within the assignment for the after-school program.
• You will work with the school's management to analyze, implement, and follow up on quality development related to the after-school program. Collaboration with the school's other development groups is part of the assignment. Through collaboration between the school and the after-school program, conditions for students' learning are created.
• You contribute to spreading experiences within the school and between schools, as well as sharing research and scientific theories with colleagues in a collegial professional learning environment.
• You take a learning perspective and create good relationships with all students and colleagues where positive expectations are a natural part.
• As a development teacher, you are expected to inspire and be a good ambassador for the profession.

In addition to the targeted mission as a development teacher, you and your colleagues will be responsible for the operations of the school's after-school program, where you offer meaningful after-school activities based on the students' needs, interests, and experiences.

Qualifications

For the position of development teacher, you must be able to present a teaching license with a focus on after-school programs or as a leisure educator. You must also demonstrate four years of well-documented work within after-school programs. The majority of that time should have been within after-school activities with the required license.
