Curator or Psychologist for Habilitation Center Brommaplan for Children
The Habilitation Center Brommaplan is a unit within Habilitation & Health, a service within the Stockholm Region with special expertise in disabilities.
The unit specializes in autism, intellectual disabilities, and movement disabilities. The habilitation creates conditions for the patient to function optimally in their daily life. The challenge here lies in the breadth of the patient’s individual needs, providing opportunities for extensive experience as well as professional and personal development. We are located in large, bright premises, centrally located at Brommaplan. We work in interdisciplinary teams consisting of curators, physiotherapists, psychologists, special educators, and speech therapists, collaborating to provide individual and group interventions for patients. We cater to individuals residing in the neighborhoods of Norra Innerstaden, Kungsholmen, Bromma, Hässelby-Vällingby, and Ekerö municipality.
About the Position:
As a member of our team for patients with autism, with and without intellectual disabilities, you will primarily work with consultations for parents and networks surrounding children/youth. Our interventions often involve providing both patients and parents, individually or in groups, with knowledge about diagnoses and functioning, supporting the network around appropriate responses and demands, providing parental support interventions based on the child's and family's situation, working on adaptations, preparation, and clarification in the environment, promoting communication and interaction, and in various ways enhancing the mental well-being and resilience of both patients and parents.
Our patients often have complex needs that require collaboration, not only within the team but also with neighboring healthcare providers, municipal services, and other authorities. Leading and participating in network meetings, such as SIP meetings, is part of the job. Depending on your core profession, other more specific job tasks may be added.
About You:
We believe that the person we are looking for has a relevant university degree as a social worker or psychologist with clinical experience of our target group and/or from the neuropsychiatric field. You should have several years of knowledge about autism with and without intellectual disabilities, from child and adolescent psychiatry or a specialized autism team within habilitation, and have a strong interest in human capabilities. Experience in clear pedagogical methods, problematic school absenteeism, and applied behavior analysis is advantageous. You should have good collaboration skills and enjoy working both independently and in a team. You have a good ability to organize and structure your work and find it easy to meet the demands of documentation and written communication. We expect you to work based on scientifically proven methods and clinical experience. The work requires an interest and ability to collaborate with other healthcare providers and municipal services. The work is characterized by variation and requires the ability to be flexible and proactive based on the patient’s focus. We place great importance on personal suitability.
