About Me:

I am a guy who shares an apartment with my brother in Annedal, Bromma, on the border with Sundbyberg. There are good communications with proximity to public transport, and by bike or a walk, you can quickly get to and from Sumpan, Solna, or Bromma.

I work at a daily activity center during the day, and my assistants obviously come along. On weekends, I usually find fun activities, sometimes with my brother, who also has assistance, and sometimes with a friend. For example, we often go to the swimming pool. I am humorous, social, and enjoy watching movies.

I do not have verbal speech, but that does not prevent me from communicating; I just use other methods, and it is therefore important that you are attentive and sensitive to my signals and are interested in learning to interpret me appropriately. If you have experience and knowledge in AAC, that is a big plus.

I am involved in the recruitment process and choose my assistants carefully, so I am very much looking forward to your application.

About You:

You have previously worked as a personal assistant and understand that this job places high demands on you to be active, thorough, structured, and solution-focused. At times, I need extra support from you, and it is important that I feel you are there providing me with calm and security.

Out of respect for both me and your colleagues, you understand the importance of being on time and coming to work rested and alert. I believe that the best fit for an assistant with me is someone who is 25 years or older.

You should be talkative, and it is very important that you feel comfortable with the Swedish language, both spoken and written. My assistants support me with everything in my daily life, so it is important that you also help me communicate in various situations, such as during doctor visits or when I need to try out a new aid at the assistive technology center. But not least so that you can understand our written instructions, your work, and perform it in a good and safe way.

Note! It is important that you are not allergic to pets, as my brother and I have a cat, and my parents have dogs that often visit us. It is, of course, a plus if you like our animals (who are very friendly).

Staffing:

This position may include an extended (and paid) staffing responsibility, which means that in some weeks you must be available at times other than working hours to call in a substitute or step in and assist when intervention is required. This is Assistans i Balans's way of ensuring that our clients always have a familiar assistant by their side. The assignment is shared by all assistants working according to a regular schedule.

The Position:

The work involves both single and double assistance, where collaboration is important both with me and my other assistants.

Right now, I want to strengthen my team and am therefore looking for at least two people for work during the day, evening, awake night, and weekends, as well as extra as needed. The positions are planned to be around 75%, but we can discuss other possibilities if you wish. Please write in your application how you would like to work.

You will receive thorough introduction, ongoing supervision, and training from Balans, who will be your employer.
