Hökåsenskolan is currently seeking a teacher in wood and metal craft who wants to become part of our team! Are you our new colleague?

Your responsibilities

As a craft teacher, you will be responsible for teaching wood and metal craft in grades 3-6. With us, there is room for creativity and the ability to independently plan, evaluate, and follow up on teaching. By engaging students, you develop their interest and knowledge in the subject. You teach various techniques and methods and demonstrate to students how craftsmanship can differ depending on the materials and tools they work with. You introduce them to a variety of tools, equipment, and machines and teach them how to use and handle these safely.

In collaboration with other staff at the school, you strive for an individualized approach, where each student's needs can be met in the best way. This means that you adapt your teaching and support based on the students' conditions and prior knowledge. Through continuous planning, feedback, and follow-up, you ensure that students have the opportunity to grow and develop within the craft subject, while also promoting a safe and rewarding learning environment.

Your qualifications

We are looking for a licensed primary school teacher with qualifications to teach wood and metal craft. It is a plus if you have experience working in primary school. You have good knowledge of handling tools and machines in craft education and communicate fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written. It is natural for you to use technical aids in your daily work.

We are a primary school in northern Västerås with two parallel classes from preschool to grade 6. Hökåsenskolan has four after-school departments connected to grades F-3. Here, we have about 400 students and over 45 staff members. The school is an important meeting place. There are many opportunities to meet and learn from others.
