The Nordic Welfare Center is an institution under the Nordic Council of Ministers with offices in Stockholm and Helsinki. We are a platform for cooperation between the Nordic countries in the social and public health sector. We aim to contribute to national development work by supporting knowledge and experience exchange between countries and by developing and disseminating new Nordic knowledge.

The Nordic Welfare Center is seeking a senior advisor, primarily for the area of integration. The position is based in the Helsinki office.

You will lead projects in the area of integration of refugees and immigrants, as well as potentially other areas within the social and public health sector. In the area of integration, we want to contribute to the Nordic countries developing effective measures and policies. The goal is to build a more sustainable and resilient region. New Nordic citizens should have the opportunity to participate in their new homeland and contribute to society.

You will independently develop and lead activities aimed at decision-makers and authorities in the Nordics as well as other experts in integration. You should thrive in an international environment and be able to manage multiple parallel projects simultaneously. At the Nordic Welfare Center, there are employees from various Nordic countries, and we work in the Scandinavian languages and in English.

We are looking for someone who

• has relevant academic education, a doctoral degree is an advantage

• has knowledge and experience from work in the area of integration and migration, an international organization and/or public administration

• has experience working in a politically governed organization

• has a good ability to independently plan, coordinate, and drive projects

• has a flexible approach, a holistic view, good collaboration skills, and is good at networking

• is proactive and results-oriented and has experience in project management with budget responsibility

• has a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in a Scandinavian language with a good understanding of the other Scandinavian languages and

• has a good ability to work in English, both verbally and in writing.

Your tasks will include

• leading and implementing projects in the area of integration and potentially other areas of operation, based on the goals of the Nordic Council of Ministers' cooperation program aimed at creating a socially sustainable and competitive Nordic region

• contributing to the generation of new knowledge in the field and ensuring that knowledge is disseminated to relevant target groups

• planning and conducting seminars, meetings, and other events

• coordinating Nordic networks and creating dialogue between key stakeholders in the Nordics

• being responsible for budget and administrative tasks focusing on project planning and development and

• collaborating with colleagues on other potential assignments within the framework of the Nordic Welfare Center's areas of operation.

We have close cooperation with various actors in the welfare policy field in Denmark, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and Åland.

In total, we are 27 employees, with headquarters in Stockholm and an office in Helsinki.
