We are looking for summer substitutes for our accommodations at Mikaelgården!

Mikaelgården offers accommodations for children and adolescents within LSS and HVB and operates a primary school and special needs school. We are a non-profit therapeutic educational organization and our school has a Waldorf orientation.

At Mikaelgården, we have created a therapeutic environment for children who need more than temporary interventions. The students, who are of primary school age, come from all over the country and exhibit a wide spectrum of various mental and social functional variations. Common diagnoses include ADD, ADHD, Autism, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Tourette Syndrome.

We are looking for you who are educated in the field; nursing assistant, social educator, treatment assistant, leisure educator, social worker, behavioral scientist, or other similar education.

About Mikaelgården

Mikaelgården is beautifully located a bit outside Järna center. Classrooms, assembly hall, dining hall, and residences are all on the same premises, creating a vibrant context that fosters a special sense of security and community.

At Mikaelgården, there are seven accommodations in close proximity to the school. Each accommodation houses 4-5 children/youths. Three of our accommodations have permits according to LSS and four have permits for HVB.

We offer a warm and pleasant atmosphere with a clear daily rhythm. Here, there are opportunities for social training, as well as practice in all aspects of daily life’s practical tasks. Our fundamental idea is to strengthen the child's inherent abilities, and we are convinced that there are great developmental opportunities within each individual. We work individually with all children to create security, wholeness, context, and development.

About the position

To work with us, you need, in addition to relevant education, to have a genuine interest in children and adolescents.

Your tasks will include not only activating and socializing with the children/youths but also regular daily chores such as cleaning, cooking, etc. You will accompany our youths on various activities where you are expected to participate. It is necessary that you can follow, inspire, and sometimes motivate. The work also includes documentation and parent contacts.

The job requires that you are secure in yourself and that you can handle and have experience with challenging behaviors. We also place great importance on being an actively participating member of the work team and following common guidelines and routines. You are expected to be able to work both independently and in a group.

Working hours: Rolling schedule including on-call, weekend, and evening shifts.

Qualifications

*Education is a requirement

*Previous experience working with children with neuropsychiatric disabilities and low-arousal responses is a requirement.
