Procurement Coordinator

Do you want to utilize your skills as a procurement coordinator to secure Sweden's national security? At the Swedish Armed Forces, you will play an important role where your work makes a difference every day.

About the Unit

The procurement unit of the Swedish Armed Forces is located within the FMLOG (Swedish Armed Forces Logistics) and is responsible for the Armed Forces' procurements and purchases in accordance with applicable procurement legislation. The work we carry out is crucial for the Armed Forces' supply as well as strategic and operational success. We work according to a well-established category management methodology.

The procurement unit consists of seven departments geographically spread across Sweden. We are now looking for a strategic buyer for our Workplace Services department. We are unpretentious, helpful, and value mutual trust. Our daily work is characterized by continuous professional development while we recognize the importance of well-being and balance – therefore, we apply flexible working hours and have the opportunity for training three hours a week during work hours.

Main Responsibilities

The role of the procurement coordinator is broad, and your main responsibilities will include:

  • Working with contract follow-up, analyses, and improvement measures related to goals and key performance indicators
  • Structuring and analyzing large amounts of data both in preparation for upcoming procurements and in managing current contracts
  • Identifying and driving development opportunities and efficiencies in the procurement operations and in our ordering channels
  • Acting as the responsible contact person for our purchasers with the responsibility to inform and educate them on applicable contracts, guidelines, and procurement systems
  • Participating in various working groups and exercises of the Armed Forces.

Qualifications

  • Academic degree with a focus on law, economics, logistics, procurement, or vocational training with a commercial focus acquired in another way that the employer assesses as equivalent
  • At least three years of relevant and current work experience in structuring and analyzing large amounts of data
  • Current and relevant experience in working with spend and procurement analyses as well as contract follow-up and supplier development
  • Solid knowledge of the Office suite
  • Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English

You are a driven person with good judgment who enjoys both leading and being part of a team. You are skilled at planning, structuring, and prioritizing your work. You are results-oriented, persistent, and analytical, and used to working with multiple tasks simultaneously under time pressure. The procurement coordinator role places high demands on good communication and relationship-building skills.

We place great importance on personal attributes and that you complement the other individuals within the unit and department.

Desirable Qualifications

It is advantageous if you have any of the following experiences:

  • Experience in the area of procurement of logistics and fuel
  • Experience working in large complex organizations
  • Current experience in procuring and managing complex international contracts

Other

Start date as soon as possible by agreement. This is a permanent position that begins with a six-month probationary period. The position is located in Stockholm. Work samples may occur during the recruitment process.
