Power System Specialist in Civil Preparedness
Svenska KraftnätStockholms län, Sundbyberg
Previous experience is desired
Power System Specialist in Civil Preparedness
Svenska kraftnät is one of the most important players in the transition to sustainable energy. We are now looking for a power system specialist for the System Development department within the System division, who will contribute to Sweden's electricity supply every day. We need you to succeed in our socially important mission to electrify Sweden.
In the System division, we work at a high level to design the electricity market, develop, and operate the electricity system. We are part of finding answers to the climate transition and creating prosperity for the entire society. We are a key player for the Swedish society to develop and create conditions for it to function. We solve both today's and tomorrow's challenges. We ensure that Sweden has a bright future.
About the Position
The role of power system specialist in civil preparedness is a new role, which means there are great opportunities to shape the role together with colleagues. You will contribute to the division's preparedness work, which encompasses electricity supply through all system operating conditions and all societal conditions. Examples of tasks include:
- leading and being cohesive for the department's work in civil preparedness
- being responsible for identifying needs, planning, and coordinating the work carried out within the department related to civil preparedness, where you represent the department in the division's joint work
- developing collaborations both within Svenska kraftnät and with external actors and being the primary contact person for the division's staff in civil preparedness
- coordinating the department's responsibility within the operating codes Emergency Situations and Reconstruction (ER) and Operation of Electricity Transmission Systems (SO) and collaborating closely with other departments and units at Svenska kraftnät within ER and SO
- being cohesive for processes and plans according to ER to ensure system protection, reconstruction, and testing.
Here you will have the opportunity to develop yourself and the entire department within civil preparedness, as well as contribute to clarifying the power system's needs in different system operating conditions and developing its ability to meet society's need for electricity in all societal conditions. Since the role involves coordinating others' work, you will also have the opportunity to develop your leadership. You will contribute your expertise in various projects that may also be outside your own role and participate in Nordic and European working and expert groups in the area.
You will belong to the Requirements Coordination and System Strategy unit, which currently consists of nine employees with a mixed age and gender distribution. The unit has a clearly coordinating role and is responsible for a comprehensive requirement picture for connecting parties, system disturbance analyses, and for keeping together the areas of voltage and frequency. The unit also has a coordinating responsibility for the department's work in civil preparedness as well as ER and SO codes.
About You
Requirements:
Since the role involves contact points both internally and externally, we are looking for someone who is collaborative and has an easy time adapting to different situations. Furthermore, we are looking for someone who has the ability to structure and prioritize among tasks as you will drive and lead work. Since the role is new and you will have significant responsibility for issues related to preparedness, we are looking for someone who is confident and secure in new situations. You want to develop and are curious by nature and keep yourself updated on what is happening through continuous monitoring of the environment. We place great importance on your personal qualities.
Furthermore, you have a master's degree in electrical engineering or another relevant field for the position, or equivalent work experience that Svenska kraftnät deems relevant. You also have:
- several years of experience in the construction and function of power systems
- experience in leading and coordinating workgroups
- at least five years of work experience in the energy sector
