Social Worker for the Family Unit in Vara Municipality

Do you have a strong commitment to children, youth, and their families? Do you want to make a difference for those we serve? Do you wish to develop further and be part of a knowledgeable and engaged work team? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

We aim to meet the children and families in need of help in the best possible way. It should be secure, accessible, and focused on the best interests of the children. We can offer you training, a meaningful, exciting, and varied job where we will soon have access to new premises, explore opportunities for relief with the help of AI, and emphasize the importance of not having a heavy workload but rather a manageable case load that allows for recovery during work hours to maintain long-term well-being.

Our unit works with the target group of children and youth aged 0-18 years and is divided into a reception function and a larger group of investigators. The unit has a unit manager and a senior social worker who is responsible for providing close methodological support and leading and distributing daily work. We work closely together, care for one another, and strive to move the organization forward.

Your Role

You have completed your social work education or are in the final stages of it. You handle cases according to the Social Services Act (SoL) primarily and according to the Special Provisions for the Care of Young People Act (LVU). You are a social worker in child welfare investigations and drive them forward. We have a strong focus on interaction, our clients' participation, and ensuring that documentation is performed securely and clearly. We have started to develop our work with Signs of Safety, which we perceive becomes clearer for those we meet.

You are part of our journey with the new social services law.

Your Knowledge and Experience

We are looking for someone who is a social worker or has an equivalent education that meets the eligibility requirements to perform certain tasks in social services for children and youth. We hope you have experience in authority exercise within the relevant field.

It is important that you have good organizational skills, can handle changes, can reprioritize, and express yourself well and nuanced in both speech and writing. Important personal qualities include the ability to collaborate, a willingness to develop, the ability to see things from multiple perspectives, good analytical skills, and the ability to prioritize and work independently.

You should have a strong child perspective.

Your Future Workplace

In the family unit, there are investigators, foster care secretaries, family therapists, senior social workers, coordinators for foster care, coordinators for open care, and the Family Center. We have a close and good collaboration with schools, together we have a School Social Team (SST), and we cooperate with Närhälsan and the school through the SAMBU team. We are collaborating with the property department for our upcoming new office to ensure a safe and secure workplace for the entire IFO, Family Unit, Adult Unit, and Assistance Unit.

We are a fairly large group with many different personalities. We laugh a lot, loudly and often, we make sure to take care of our body and soul, and we practice taking micro-breaks during the workday. Our workgroup takes great responsibility for each other's well-being, and there is always a colleague nearby to turn to. We are part of an organization that has long worked to ensure that our workload and staffing levels are reasonable. This is something that is visible and felt in the workgroup.

As an employee, you also contribute to our development towards a good climate and a good working environment. If you want to enjoy your job; welcome to us!
