Digital Communicator at the Swedish Parliament Administration
The Swedish Parliament Administration is an authority tasked with supporting the work of the parliament. The agency employs 700 politically neutral staff members with various types of tasks. We are now looking for a digital communicator for the web editorial team at the communications department of the Swedish Parliament Administration. We seek someone interested in content-based communication in digital media and who can write clearly about complex topics.
Your Responsibilities
The parliament's website is the primary direct channel for accessing the work and decisions of the parliament. In addition to being an information source for the public, the website is an important working tool for parliament members, authorities, and media.
As a digital communicator, you will be part of a web editorial team consisting of eight digital communicators, and your task is to disseminate knowledge about the parliament's work and decisions in a pedagogical, factual, and politically neutral manner. You contribute a communicative holistic perspective and can quickly translate theory into practice. You will work both operationally and strategically with message formulation, target group focus, and channel selection. You are also expected to stay updated on what is happening both within the organization and in the external environment.
A large part of the work involves continuously writing texts about the work being done in parliament and informing about the decisions made. Primarily, you will write for our web pages, but you will also work in our social media and with newsletters.
You will create, publish, and maintain web pages in the Optimizely system, quality-check the content in the digital channels, and perform basic image editing. Clear language and digital accessibility are important cornerstones. The work also includes being responsible for external communication in various projects within the administration.
You will primarily work daytime Monday to Friday and usually have additional responsibility for ongoing tasks in the editorial team one or a couple of days a week. You may also be scheduled on certain other days or times to handle current incoming tasks based on parliamentary events. A large part of the tasks requires you to be present in the parliament's premises, but there is an opportunity for remote work as far as the operations allow.
Your Qualifications
It is a requirement that you have an academic education in communication or a related field. You have a couple of years of experience as a digital communicator and possess good competence regarding digital web communication and social media for external target groups. You have a strong interest in social issues, and you may have worked at an authority or in a larger organization.
You are a skilled writer who has worked editorially with both text and image for the web. You can work both operationally and strategically with social media and easily grasp complex information, evaluate it, and then communicate it in a clear and pedagogical manner.
You can perform basic image processing in Photoshop, work in the Optimizely system or similar, and are accustomed to creating, updating, and maintaining content on a website. Knowledge of requirements and testing within digital development is a bonus.
You are driven, responsible, and a quick learner, and can easily switch between independent work and teamwork. You are positive and solution-oriented and follow decisions made. Since our demands for accuracy are very high, you need to have good judgment and be structured, meticulous, and communicative. You thrive in both high-pressure situations and longer-term projects. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
The communications department has about 90 employees, and the position is located in the editorial content section of the press, editorial, and development unit.
The position is classified in a security class, which in this case requires Swedish citizenship and a passed security clearance.
