At the TEDDY clinic, several research projects are conducted focusing on type 1 diabetes, celiac disease, and thyroiditis. The TEDDY clinic is an independent unit belonging to the pediatric medicine department. We are located at the Clinical Research Center on the hospital grounds in Malmö. The clinic conducts newborn screening through GPPAD (Global Platform for the Prevention of Autoimmune Diabetes), as well as several prevention studies such as SINT1A (Supplementation with B.INfantis for Mitigation of Type 1 Diabetes Autoimmunity), PreCiSe (Prevention Celiac Disease in Skåne), GRaIN (Gluten Reduction after Infancy), and AVANT1A (Anti-viral action against Type 1 diabetes autoimmunity) and soon iT1D (follow-up of children at risk for type 1 diabetes). Some new studies are in the planning stage. Those of us working at the research clinic are nurses, dietitians, coordinators, biomedical analysts, and pediatricians. Together we form a team with broad competence and experiences that we are happy to share with each other.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking forward to welcoming a research nurse for a temporary position at our research clinic! You will be involved in at least two of the exciting research projects being conducted at the unit. In the role of research nurse with us, you will have regular contact with children and parents for follow-up according to study protocols. You will be responsible for sample collections, glucose tolerance tests, and other data collection.

The advertisement refers to a temporary position for 12 months. Working hours are daytime, Monday to Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare, preferably with further training as a pediatric nurse. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required. If you have good knowledge of English, we consider it a positive aspect. Experience in similar work, blood sampling from children, or clinical research is seen as meritorious. Experience in including patients in research studies is also desirable. Since much of the administrative work takes place in various databases, we prefer that you have good computer skills.

As a person, we are looking for someone with a strong interest in research and development. You have good collaboration skills and strong communication abilities that you utilize for effective work within teams and with external partners. Since you will be managing several research projects simultaneously, we expect you to be structured and have good organizational skills. You conduct your work with precision and adhere to good clinical practice (GCP). We place great importance on personal suitability.
