Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) has main locations in Umeå, Uppsala, and Alnarp. In Alnarp, there are approximately 1200 students studying landscape, horticulture, agriculture, and forestry. We are now looking for several exam invigilators to work with written examinations at SLU, Campus Alnarp.

Would you like to work as an exam invigilator with us at SLU in Alnarp?

As an exam invigilator, you are responsible for ensuring that the examination environment is calm and secure. You ensure that the examination is conducted in an equal and fair manner according to the regulations in place at the university. You will handle practical and administrative tasks related to the examination, such as identity verification and informing students in the exam room in both Swedish and English. Your duties also include monitoring to prevent any cheating during the examination. Our exam rooms are spread across the campus, which means you may need to transport materials and tools to and from the rooms.

In your work, you will handle computers with associated educational support programs. In the long term, we also plan to start digital examinations in the Inspera system. Therefore, it is very important that you have good computer skills, an interest in IT, and that you can easily learn new systems.

Examinations are conducted in large rooms with up to 50 candidates, in smaller rooms with a few candidates, and outdoors where clothing appropriate for the weather is required.

To work as an exam invigilator with us, you must first complete a short mandatory training course for exam invigilators, which is conducted digitally via our course platform Canvas. After that, you will shadow an experienced exam invigilator. You cannot combine the role of exam invigilator with being a student at SLU.

Your Background

You are a person who is passionate about service and has the ability to always provide a professional response to students, teachers, and others, even in pressured situations. In your role, you need to be clear and communicate what is required in different situations. We have high demands for teamwork skills, and it is important that you enjoy working in a team. You are communicative and feel comfortable speaking in front of large groups. It is important that you are organized, punctual, and meticulous, and that you feel a strong responsibility for your tasks.

An absolute requirement is that you have good computer skills, an interest in IT, and that you can easily learn new systems. You should have good knowledge of Swedish and English.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge and experience with Office, Zoom, and Teams. It is also an advantage if you have previously worked as an exam invigilator/monitor/exam leader.

About Us

Education has a long tradition in Alnarp. Higher education in landscape, horticulture, agriculture, and forestry has existed here since 1862. The location, with its historical environment combined with greenery and modern teaching, attracts many new students. Currently, approximately 1,200 students are studying on campus at both undergraduate and advanced levels.

As an exam invigilator, you will collaborate with the Examination Service (TS), which is part of SLU's joint operational support.

Employment Type:

Special fixed-term employment in the form of an intermittent position. This means that you are employed on each occasion as needed and receive financial compensation per hour. For exam invigilators, a fixed hourly wage applies.

Extent:

As needed, irregular working hours during the day and evening. Weekend work may occur.
