Your role with us

In June 2023, the Swedish Transmission System Operator, also known as the Electricity Preparedness Authority, decided that Öresundsverket should be part of the Swedish electricity preparedness. Based on this, Uniper is now restoring Öresundsverket to operational condition, and by the first quarter of 2025, the facility will be ready in the Swedish electricity preparedness.

The main tasks for you as a control room engineer include monitoring the power plant's turbines, generators, and support systems. You are expected to take an active role in maintenance and feel ownership of the facility's function and performance. Operational optimization is carried out in close collaboration with the process engineer.

You will work in the central control room of the power plant but will also spend a significant portion of your working hours out in the facility. This is an operational position, where you have a great responsibility for planning your day and making necessary decisions. You work in smaller teams where collaboration with other colleagues is crucial for the operation to function - within the team, you will share tasks and alternate.

What will you work with?

• Operation and monitoring of Öresundsverket
• Rounds
• Function tests
• Gas/electricity nominations
• Operation management
• Work permits, troubleshooting, outages, and revisions
• System responsibility – writing and updating instructions and drawings
• Operational responsibility during test runs, etc.

Working at Uniper means opportunities for learning, and you will be supported in your skills development in preventive maintenance (mechanics, electrical, instrumentation and control systems, maintenance and documentation systems, process chemistry, etc.).

The role involves continuous 3-shift work and is subject to on-call duty every 6 weeks. You report to the operations manager and have in Saad Boss an engaged, present, and coaching manager who supports you in your development.

Uniper is part of Sweden's critical infrastructure, and our operations are subject to regulations regarding security protection, export control, and nuclear non-proliferation. Therefore, we will conduct security checks for all our positions and complement with background checks for security-classified positions, in accordance with the Security Protection Act. Uniper is part of critical societal operations in Sweden, which is why this position may be subject to military placement. A health examination, including a drug test, may also be relevant before employment.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who wants an active role in maintenance and operations and who wants to take ownership of the facility's function and performance. The facility itself is complex, which requires an understanding of how everything is interconnected. You take your own initiatives and see what needs to be done in the daily work. You have a genuine interest in technology that drives you to understand how the power plant process works, both at the system and component level.

As we are in a building phase, you need to understand this - that we together establish routines and working methods. Good collaboration and communication skills, as well as a solution-oriented mindset, are important to succeed in the role.

Safety always comes first at Uniper's facilities, and given the nature of the work, it is of utmost importance that you have good integrity and a high safety mindset.

Requirements:

• Completed post-secondary education, e.g., KY/YH as an operations/maintenance/marine engineer.
• Alternatively, several years of work experience as a manager/team leader in the field.
• Work experience from thermal power plants and good knowledge of their properties and functions.
• Experience working with digital tools and data management.
• Good language skills in Swedish and English (spoken, written, comprehension).
• Driving license B.

Meritorious:

• Experience in maintenance work and contractor management.
• Previous experience in a role as a work/operations leader.
• Previous experience working in SAP.
