Responsibilities

As a lawyer at the authority, you will work with legal issues in the field of data protection. Your tasks include handling complaints and supervisory matters under the Data Protection Regulation. Additionally, you will be involved in court processes and provide both written and oral guidance to the public. In several of our units, the work also includes significant elements of cross-border collaboration, where English is our working language.

You will work in a unit primarily responsible for handling complaints and complaint supervision. The needs of the organization form the basis for our division of labor, so changing needs and conditions may lead to changes in tasks and placement over time, within the framework of the employment contract.

In addition to the regulations that follow from the EU's Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawyers at IMY also work with the application of the Crime Data Act, the Credit Information Act, the Patient Data Act, and other sector-specific legislation. The operations are also affected by developments and regulatory changes in the AI field.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a law degree (jur. kand.) or equivalent legal education, as well as a notary qualification or other experience deemed equivalent by the employer. You have at least three years of experience in qualified legal work. You find it easy to express complex legal issues in a target group-adapted, clear, and concise manner and have excellent written and oral skills in both Swedish and English.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience in supervisory work
  • Knowledge of data protection legislation and practical experience in applying these rules in the private or public sector
  • Experience in providing guidance
  • Competence in IT and information security, artificial intelligence, or new technology

Your Personal Qualities

As a person, you are responsible and unpretentious. You are decisive and independently drive your tasks forward. Additionally, you are flexible, attentive, and cooperative. You have a good ability to listen to different perspectives and quickly find the core of complex information. Furthermore, you have the ability to make qualified decisions under changing conditions and can deliver quality even under high workloads. We place great importance on your personal qualities.

The Position

The employment is a permanent full-time position. IMY applies a six-month probationary period. The work is based in our pleasant activity-based premises centrally located in Stockholm, with the possibility of individual agreements for remote work. Travel in the service may occur.
