Kolarebacken - Short-Term Accommodation in Mariestad

Kolarebacken is a short-term accommodation located at Mariestad Hospital. Here, you have direct access to forest trails, Lake Vänern, a pharmacy, a health center, a grocery store, and a bus stop.

The accommodation has two units with a total of 20 apartments intended for respite care, short-term housing before returning to regular housing, end-of-life care, or waiting for a place in a care and nursing home.

Due to an upcoming parental leave, we now need to appoint a replacement for a longer part-time temporary position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The job responsibilities consist of personal care, support during meals and transfers, as well as delegated health and medical tasks and social interaction.

We work in a team, and the collaboration between the unit manager, nurses, care, and rehabilitation staff is very important, and as a nursing assistant, you will participate more extensively in medical interventions in a short-term accommodation. Some service tasks are also included, such as laundry, cleaning, and shopping, as well as participating in activities with the residents.

You are responsible for continuously creating, documenting, and following up on implementation plans and other documentation.

If you have a background as a specialist-trained nursing assistant in areas such as dementia or palliative care, you will, from a holistic perspective, also be a reflective practitioner who has a conscious and professional approach with knowledge in dementia or palliative care as a foundation. You will be a role model, teaching, conveying knowledge, developing, and spreading approaches within your specialty to the workplace.

At Kolarebacken, we offer various activities conducted by care staff. The activities depend on the season or the interests of those staying with us, but examples of activities include games, books, music, bingo, reading the newspaper, baking, cooking, coffee gatherings, etc. Individually tailored activities also occur based on personal preferences, such as cycling, gymnastics, etc. On weekends, we often have a cozy Friday with good food and watching something together on TV, and we set the table a bit extra nicely and conduct activities based on the seasons and holidays.

We work according to a seven-week schedule with irregular hours and three out of seven weekends.

The position in question is a longer temporary position at 75% from May 2025 to probably September 2026.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for a position with us, we see that you are primarily a trained nursing assistant. You should also have work experience in elderly care.

As a person, you are attentive, positive, and secure in your interactions with individuals. You possess good and versatile care skills as the reasons for residency among the residents vary. We expect you to be flexible since the work is based on close collaboration with your colleagues, where you are expected to work in both units.

You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. This is necessary for you to be able to receive and provide verbal and written information. The job also requires computer skills for you to document and access written documentation in the operational systems we use in daily work. All to provide good and safe care.
