About the Department

The Neuropsychiatry area is one of five adult psychiatric areas within Sahlgrenska University Hospital (SU) responsible for patients with neuropsychiatric disabilities, eating disorders, deaf psychiatry, memory disorders, Huntington's disease, and geriatric psychiatric inpatient care.

The department is currently research-intensive, focusing on cognitive disorders in adults, population studies concerning elderly health, suicide research, and research in autism and eating disorders.

The Autism Psychiatric Clinic is an outpatient clinic aimed at individuals with autism and psychiatric comorbidity. This includes a wide spectrum such as ADHD, depression, anxiety, OCD, and more. We do not accept patients with intellectual disabilities, more advanced addiction conditions, or psychotic disorders. Most patients referred to us come from various psychiatric clinics within SU.

Our clinic is relatively newly opened, having started seeing patients in October 2024, and there is currently an intensive development effort to find the best ways to meet the needs of our target group.

The work is based on team collaboration, and currently, it includes doctors, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and administrators. We are now looking for a specialist in psychiatry who is willing to take an active part in developing the clinic together with us.

What We Offer

Here, you will have a unique opportunity to help shape a new service from the ground up, and you will be an important part of the clinic's development work. As a physician, you will play a key role in the clinic's operations. Professional development and supervision will be provided. The unit will be built up gradually with a focus on good adapted care to meet the specific needs of the patient group. Research will take place at the clinic.

Assessment and treatment of various general psychiatric conditions in individuals with autism. Standard duties for a specialist in psychiatry in outpatient psychiatric care.

About You

You are a licensed physician, a specialist in psychiatry, and have prior experience, interest, and commitment to the patient group and their specific needs.
