About Neuropsychiatry

The Neuropsychiatry area is one of five adult psychiatric areas responsible for patients with neuropsychiatric disabilities, eating disorders, deaf psychiatry, memory disorders, Huntington's disease, geriatric inpatient care, and geriatric mobile teams.

The operation is research-intensive and actively participates in several healthcare training programs. We have a close collaboration with other actors involved in patient care and support. In other words, it is a knowledge-intensive organization where we perform varied and important work and where there are good conditions for personal development.

Ward 81 and 82 are geriatric acute care wards responsible for admissions and discharges around the clock. The wards cater to individuals over 70 years old with psychiatric illnesses such as depression, bipolar disorders, psychoses, and severe anxiety disorders, as well as memory-related diseases with or without BPSD symptoms. The work is based on a person-centered approach. With us in geriatric psychiatry, you will have an exciting, developing, and varied job.

The Huntington's Disease Center is a transdisciplinary team consisting of doctors, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, dietitians, physiotherapists, speech therapists, neuropsychologists, and psychologists. The catchment area is all of Västra Götaland and Halland. Huntington's disease is a genetic disorder that causes motor, cognitive, and psychiatric symptoms. The target group for the clinic is individuals with Huntington's disease, gene carriers, and potential gene carriers in need of medical assessment, as well as their relatives. We provide specialized interventions for our patients, work consultatively with the patient's network, and have an educational mission. We also have assignments and resources to conduct research and development.

About the position

The position involves working 60% in our inpatient care and 40% in outpatient care at the Huntington's Disease Center. Your expertise will be of utmost importance to us in our patient safety and quality work, which is why we would like to see you interested in this type of overarching work. Some of the main tasks include working with assessment, treatment, transfer techniques, and positioning, as well as assistive device testing. You will work with patients both individually and in groups. More specifically, this means assessing and describing patients' activity ability, mental and cognitive functions, and identifying needs for assistance. You will work both individually and in teams with various professional groups around the patient. At the Huntington's Disease Center, there is also a strong focus on collaboration with care neighbors within primary care, municipalities, and other specialist care, as patients often receive services from many different actors.

About you

We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist. Previous experience with the target group or experience in geriatrics is an advantage. You have an interest in our patient groups and appreciate being part of an organization in constant development. You have good collaboration skills, flexibility, and at the same time, a strong ability to work independently. You are accustomed to taking responsibility, are structured, and solution-focused.
