Your Future Workplace

The Operating Department is part of the Anesthesia/Operation/Intensive Care Unit and has about 80 employees working in anesthesia, surgery, post-op, and sterilization at Alingsås Hospital.

We perform everything from simple day surgery procedures to extensive surgery, both planned and emergency. We offer a wide range of services in orthopedics, surgery, urology, ENT, pediatrics, and pacemaker insertions, making the work varied and stimulating. We work systematically with patient flows and processes to provide our patients with high availability and good, safe care.

Job Responsibilities

As an operating nurse, you are an important part of the surgical team and work together with surgeons, anesthesia nurses, nursing assistants, and anesthesiologists in the operating room. You need to be flexible and able to work at a varying pace. You work in a high-tech environment where the patient is the focus and are responsible for asepsis and sterility. You work independently in your professional role, but you have the whole team in close collaboration to provide good and safe care during the patient's surgery.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse with specialized training in operating room nursing. Previous experience as an operating nurse is an advantage.

Your perspective is characterized by care for people, and you have a good ability to work in teams, even cross-professionally. We work without prestige in flows, which means you need to be flexible.

Conditions

The working hours for most employees are daytime Monday to Friday, and you are off on weekends and public holidays.

When you are ready and the organization has a need, you may have the opportunity to join the on-call team, which means that a surgical team takes care of our emergency patients during on-call hours.
