Job Advertisement: Nurse at the Psychogeriatric Department

The Geriatric Center is a specialist clinic for patients needing both acute and planned geriatric care and rehabilitation. A comprehensive assessment of the patient's medical, physical, psychological, and social functioning during illness is performed by a team comprising multiple professions. Diagnostics, treatment, and rehabilitation are conducted in inpatient and outpatient care with the patient's individual needs in focus.

The Psychogeriatric Department, ward 2, has 8-9 beds and provides specialized psychogeriatric care, treatment, and rehabilitation for individuals with cognitive disorders and behavioral and psychological symptoms associated with dementia (BPSD) regardless of age. Patient care and treatment are based on the individual's needs and are carried out in well-functioning teams. The department works with care strategies and person-centered care.

We have moved to new, fresh premises in the newly built Psychiatry House (while our old premises are being renovated) with large, lovely spaces, beautiful windows, and a well-functioning indoor environment with good ventilation and lighting. Come and join us in this restart!

As an employee at the Psychogeriatric Department, you will participate in a work schedule model 3-3, which allows for more recovery time. You will work according to a schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and nights.

All our new colleagues undergo a well-structured orientation program that provides good insight, understanding, and foundational security in your role. You will be trained both day and night alongside experienced colleagues.

The positions are permanent employment with Region Västerbotten, with a fixed placement and a permanent position currently available until 2025-08-31 at the Geriatric Center.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe.

Your work as a nurse includes care responsibility and nursing work together with nursing assistants. You will perform medical interventions based on the patient's condition and orders. You collaborate with other professionals in the care team, other healthcare providers, and the patient's relatives. Your work contributes to safe patient care with good quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a licensed nurse, preferably with experience in caring for patients with dementia.

In addition to your medical competence, we see that you have the ability to collaborate and can listen and communicate with both patients, relatives, and colleagues in the workplace. As a person, you are engaged and positive. We also see that you are interested in contributing your knowledge to develop the operations within the clinic. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
