Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Mun-H-Center is a national orofacial (mouth and face) knowledge center for rare health conditions and part of the specialist dental care within Folktandvården Västra Götaland.

The clinic employs 20 staff members who serve as a referral institution for dental, health, and medical care both within the region and nationally for children, adolescents, and adults with rare health conditions. Our clinically active teams consist of specialists in pedodontics, orthodontics, orofacial medicine, and speech therapy, as well as dental hygienists and dental assistants.

Mun-H-Center's national mission includes gathering, documenting, and disseminating knowledge about oral health, bite conditions, and orofacial function in various rare health conditions. In addition to clinical work, research and education are also conducted regarding the mentioned patient groups.

Currently, dental assistants and a pedodontic dental assistant work at Mun-H-Center. The new role of pedodontic dental assistant is one of several further education opportunities for dental assistants within Folktandvården Västra Götaland. The first certification training for pedodontic dental assistants is planned to start in May 2025. As a pedodontic dental assistant, you will have advanced formal and functional knowledge in pediatric and adolescent dentistry. The training primarily takes place during working hours and is funded by the employer.

The position involves working and assisting in interdisciplinary teams alongside our specialists in pedodontics, orthodontics, and orofacial medicine, as well as participating in Ågrenska's family stays (www.agrenska.se (http://www.agrenska.se)). The position also includes independent work with patients in prophylactic treatments, onboarding, and acclimatization treatments, as well as independent work with administrative tasks. You will also represent Mun-H-Center at training sessions and conferences.

Qualifications and Profile

• Qualified dental assistant with an approved education from MYH (The Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education) or Orthodontic Assistant
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
• Interest and experience with individuals with disabilities
• Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and wisely
• Good initiative and ability to work independently
• Ability to present a stable and calm impression even when there is a lot to do
• Ability to collaborate and relate to others in a responsive manner
• Ability to create a safe and inclusive environment where everyone feels seen and heard
• Professional approach in interactions with patients by showing empathy, patience, and understanding of their needs
• Ability to use pedagogical methods, creativity, and flexibility to find the right approach in interactions with patients

If you are new to the profession, you will receive an individually tailored mentoring program during your initial period. The mentoring program is part of our two-year development program for newly graduated dental assistants.

About the Recruitment Process

If you are not already employed with us, you will be contacted by a recruiter from the HR unit for an interview. After the application period ends, the clinic manager will select candidates and invite them for an interview at the clinic.
