About the company
GKN Aerospace Sweden is part of GKN Aerospace, which manufactures engine components, aircraft structures, cabin windows, wiring, and much more for many of the world's aircraft. The companies in the Aerospace division that work with parts for aircraft engines together form Engines, and at our facility in Trollhättan, we develop and manufacture advanced parts for engines for aircraft and space rockets. We also work with engine maintenance.
We have production facilities in Trollhättan, Kongsberg (Norway), Mexico, and the USA. We also have an engineering office in Bangalore, India, and offices in Stockholm (Public Affairs) and Gothenburg. The headquarters for Engines is located in Trollhättan.
Your tasks
In this role, you will lead, plan, review, and develop the work within strength, as well as independently carry out advanced simulations. Your main focus is to create the best conditions for the team to perform at the highest level.
Your main tasks include:
- Be responsible for analysis deliveries within the project and ensure high quality and punctuality.
- Establish a team structure that maximizes learning, quality, and throughput.
- Lead and plan the team's work for an even distribution of tasks.
- Create a deep understanding of the product's history and methods to optimize future work.
- Document technical results and present them internally and externally.
- Ensure continued airworthiness for certified products through analysis of field data and proposals for actions.
- Continuously improve team leadership, organization, and communication with customers and suppliers.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a master's degree in applied mechanics or a similar field. You have deep knowledge in strength and materials science, with a particular focus on structural integrity, material properties, and component performance. Experience with ANSYS software is a prerequisite for success in the role. Additionally, knowledge of GKN's products is an advantage.
As a person, you are a strong leader who is passionate about inspiring, motivating, and guiding your team. You also have a well-developed ability to create clear and adaptable plans with natural milestones, as well as the ability to switch between details and a larger perspective.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where GKN's customer has security classification requirements, it may in some cases involve specific citizenship requirements.
