Job Description

In the role of testing engineer, you will be involved in assignments related to station control concerning production facilities, industrial plants, and transformer and switching stations, where we often take responsibility for the design, testing, and commissioning of the control system.

In this role, you will be a specialist in testing and commissioning, playing a key role in contributing your knowledge, experience, and familiarity with testing various relay protection functions and using the necessary testing equipment. As a tester with us, you will often be involved all the way to commissioning and energizing power facilities.

Our section, Electric Power at AFRY in Trollhättan, consists of a group of 11 colleagues today. With us, you are part of a team that works from the idea stage to completed projects and finished facilities within the industry. With our broad and deep expertise, we have the opportunity to help both our customers and each other to succeed and develop. We enjoy learning from each other and doing fun things together. We drive advanced power projects for our external customers that range from heavy petrochemical operations to vehicle development/manufacturing to complex facilities in hospitals. We also support the various divisions within AFRY with our specialist expertise in electric power. This makes us present within the entire AFRY customer base, which is incredibly exciting.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a few years of experience in a similar role within relay protection testing and commissioning, or you have acquired equivalent knowledge through work experience. It is also a plus if you have taken courses in the field, such as relay protection technology or similar.

You also need to be able to drive your work forward in a self-directed and structured manner in this role, as you will work independently and be responsible for this area with us. As a person, you are responsible and have good social skills. As a consultant with us, you will interact with customers daily, and therefore we value good communication skills and the ability to build trust with others.

You also need to have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as these languages are central to having a dialogue with our customers. Furthermore, you need to have a B driver's license as travel is included in the position.

If you have experience with ABB's or Schneider's relay protection and automation systems and/or practical experience as a service/industrial electrician or are somehow used to working with electricity/power practically, it is a bonus for us, but not a requirement. We place great importance on your personal qualities, curiosity, responsibility, and engagement.
