The Role of the Nurse

As a nurse in the emergency department, you have a holistic view of the patient and participate in assessing their need for care and treatment. You are responsible for nursing, observation, medication, and collaboration regarding acutely ill patients of varying ages and with different medical, surgical, urological, or orthopedic conditions. We want the patient to be involved in their care. This means that information is a very important part of your work. We work in teams with different professions, and together with other staff, you work to provide the patient with good and safe care and a professional approach. As a nurse, you lead and distribute the work in the team. With us, you will work three shifts: day, evening, and weekend.

Your Future Workplace

The emergency department handles acute illnesses and accidents that cannot be managed at the health center. We are open 24/7, all year round. Our operations have a broad and varied mission in close collaboration with other clinics in the hospital. From individual patient encounters to being a player in the hospital's disaster organization. About 50 people work in our clinic.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse or graduating in June 2025. We are looking for someone who wants to broaden their nursing profession, has a great interest in emergency care, and a willingness and curiosity to learn new things. To have the best possible summer planning, we view positively if you can work at least 6-8 weeks continuously during the summer. Introduction will take place in addition to these weeks.

If you enjoy fast-paced work, a lot of variety in your tasks, and want to develop in your professional role, you will thrive with us! For you to succeed and feel comfortable in your new role, we see that you are stable and controlled in stressful situations. You take initiative and are responsible for your own tasks as well as for the unit's overall well-being. It means a lot to us that you have a positive attitude towards both tasks and colleagues, and together we create high patient safety and good accessibility, with the patient in focus.

Great importance is placed on good collaboration skills and personal suitability.

For the summer of 2025, we are hiring nurses for summer positions starting both in January and later in the spring. There are great opportunities for extension and permanent employment.

For those who continue their employment after the summer, we offer you to participate in one of Sweden's best introductory and development programs for newly educated nurses - RIU.

The program consists of 20 full days spread over eight months with lectures, internships, and reflections. RIU gives you an opportunity to meet other nurses in the same situation where you exchange experiences and provide each other with advice and support.

They are designed so that you can engage in wellness activities to feel good, regardless of physical level and previous training experience.
