Temporary Junior Doctor at Lycksele Hospital

Lycksele is a town in Lapland that offers changing seasons, rich leisure activities, and good housing. If you want to live in a town while being close to nature, Lycksele is hard to beat. Lycksele is located in Västerbotten County just 80 minutes from Arlanda, situated between the coast and the mountains. Lycksele Hospital is a small, modern, and well-equipped emergency hospital. We meet patients from our catchment area, which is as large as Switzerland, with just over 40,000 inhabitants.

At Lycksele Hospital, there is close cooperation between clinics and care departments, characterized by a good collaborative and educational climate as well as short and quick decision-making paths.

The Surgical Center in Lycksele is a combined unit that includes everything from emergency reception to surgery and care wards. The center conducts both emergency and planned surgery, orthopedics, urology, surgical care, and anesthesia with associated postoperative care as well as intensive care for adults.

The Medical Center of Southern Lapland is an active and developing clinic at Lycksele Hospital. The clinic works within the entire inter-medical spectrum, including rehabilitation/stroke department, emergency medical care department, dialysis, and outpatient services with a physiotherapy lab.

We are now looking for temporary junior doctors for our clinics, with placement either at the medical center or the surgical center.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a junior doctor with us, you will gain knowledge and experience of working within surgical-orthopedic and internal medicine operations.

We have extensive experience in mentoring and have a working method that allows you to develop as a doctor. With us, you will have a varied job that includes ward work, admission reception, and work at the emergency department. On-call duties at the emergency department are included.

You will assist in contacts with other clinics and hospitals. We collaborate across the county and constantly strive for development and improved methods.

QUALIFICATIONS

For work within hospital care, the requirement is that you have completed at least term 9 of the Swedish medical education with all courses passed.

If you are studying your education within Europe, a special authorization from the National Board of Health and Welfare is required if the education is not completed. Upon obtaining a medical degree, approval from the National Board of Health and Welfare is required to work as a junior doctor.

We require good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1.
