About the position
We are looking for special education teachers with a focus on intellectual disabilities with as broad qualifications as possible. To be qualified to teach in the national program within adapted upper secondary school, a teaching degree for grades 4-6 in primary school is required at a minimum. To be qualified to teach in the individual program at adapted upper secondary school, a teaching degree for grades F-3 in primary school is required.
Examples of job responsibilities:
- individually and together with your team, you will plan, implement, and evaluate your work according to Gysär 13 and GY25, the school's governing documents
- plan, implement, and evaluate teaching together with other teachers at the adapted upper secondary school
- stimulate and motivate students to develop their abilities and create opportunities for learning
- mentorship
- you will work closely with one or more student assistants
About the workplace
Adapted upper secondary school is for young people who do not meet the school's knowledge requirements due to having an intellectual disability. Here, 230 employees work. The municipal adapted upper secondary school is organized under Tullängsgymnasiet but conducts parts of its operations at Virginska gymnasiet and Kvinnerstaområdet. These positions are primarily located in the individual program at Tullängsgymnasiet, but employment in the adapted upper secondary school means that you are available for work throughout the entire organization.
Tullängsgymnasiet is part of the Upper Secondary and Labor Market Administration. Here, 1400 employees work in a variety of roles to provide young people and adults in Örebro with the same opportunities for education and self-sufficiency. Within the administration, there is expertise in many different areas and operations, which means that you as an employee have great opportunities for professional development in a creative and varied environment.
Qualifications
As a special education teacher, you are open and curious about changes. You are a good collaborator and relate to other people in a responsive manner. You take your own initiatives, take responsibility for your tasks, and achieve good results in your work. You analyze, evaluate, and develop the operations based on the students' conditions and needs. As a special educator, you have a good understanding of how students absorb knowledge and that everyone has different conditions, where you have a good ability to listen to the recipient and adapt your approach accordingly.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Requirements:
- licensed special education teacher (with qualifications to teach in the adapted upper secondary school's individual and/or national programs, i.e., at least a teaching degree for F-3, some positions require a teaching degree for at least grades 4-6 for qualification to assign grades)
Desirable:
- experience working in adapted primary school/adapted upper secondary school
- sign language support, TAKK
- ICDP
- knowledge of NPF

Start date: August 7 or by agreement

Teacher certification with specified qualifications must be attached to the application, or alternatively, a qualifying diploma that entitles you to certification.
