As a Release Train Engineer (RTE) for one of our agile and cross-functional trains, Fondexpressen, you will play a central role in leading and optimizing the work. You will build strong relationships, drive continuous improvements, and ensure that all teams work effectively and frictionlessly. About the job

You will be part of the train management team, which consists of a train architect (TA), Release Train Engineer (RTE), and Product Leader, commonly referred to as Product Manager (PM).

As our RTE, you will be responsible for how the work is conducted between teams and other roles within the train using agile methods and mindsets.

As a Release Train Engineer, your leadership is based on trust-based relationships, and you act as a coach for the train's members in everything related to agile working methods and the fundamental principles that our way of working is based on.

As a Release Train Engineer with us, you are the oil and lubricant of the train. Your main task as an RTE is to ensure that the train's teams work as efficiently and frictionlessly as possible.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • coaching, building relationships to optimize teams and flow through the train
  • driving continuous improvement work and problem-solving regarding processes and methods
  • communicating the train's overall status to stakeholders around and in the train in a systematic and learning approach
  • tracking and visualizing the train's capacity
  • driving continuous improvement work and problem-solving regarding processes and methods
  • tracking dependencies against other initiatives around the train as needed
  • following up, escalating, and removing obstacles for the train regarding both development and management
  • managing risks and dependencies at the train level
  • facilitating and supporting the train's various ceremonies and processes
  • coaching product management and Scrum masters in Lean and Agile

You will belong to the IT department in the line structure, but your agile train is cross-functional with capabilities from several different departments within the authority. In the IT department, we have about 350 employees, and our socially important mission means we need to grow. As part of our IT department, you will work in a developing environment, focusing on employee engagement and new ideas. Your profile

It is not just what you have done or how long, but above all your ability to do what is most important to us. As an RTE, you have strong leadership skills and can inspire, guide, and support teams through change and improvement. You have a collaborative ability that allows you to work closely with other RTEs, product management, and teams to create effective and well-functioning flows. With your holistic view, you see the development train's role in a larger context, identify dependencies, and act proactively to optimize delivery. You are stable and secure in yourself, handle challenges professionally, and maintain a solution-focused approach even in pressured situations. Additionally, you are self-driven, take initiative, and push work forward in a dynamic and complex environment.

To be considered for the role, you also need to have:

  • academic education in technology or equivalent
  • several years of experience working with agile methods, preferably in the role of RTE, agile coach, or Scrum Master
  • experience leading changes in working methods
  • experience setting up metrics, key figures, and associated goals
  • experience coaching both teams and individuals
  • experience with multiple frameworks, methods, and best practices and how to make them work together

It is advantageous if you also have:

  • several years of experience in the role of RTE
  • certifications such as SAFe Program Consultant or SAFe RTE
  • experience developing a business based on ITIL

All documentation is done in Swedish, so it is important that you have a good command of the Swedish language.

Good to know

The position is a permanent full-time employment, and we apply a 6-month probationary period.

The employment may be placed in a security class.
