Our current teacher is unfortunately moving back to their hometown, and we are now looking for a teacher for Ås School grades 4-9 who can teach home economics.

Ås School is a K-9 school with an accompanying after-school program. Here, 480 students are divided into three stages: K-3, 4-6, and 7-9. Ås School has a high proportion of qualified teachers, and the students receive a good quality of education. We actively work with collegial learning and conduct systematic development work together with student health. We care about each other's and the students' work environment and work purposefully with safety and well-being, knowledge development, as well as leadership and management.

The Department of Children and Education has about 800 employees. The department's operations extend across the entire municipality and include preschool, primary school K-9, adapted primary school, after-school programs, food and cleaning services, mother tongue, and library services.

A Day as a Teacher at Ås School

The main task of the work is to teach and inspire students in grades 6-9 based on municipal and national goals. Another important part is to identify development needs and drive the development of the operations towards established goals and to be an important part of the school's development.

You will be an important part of the work team and together with students and colleagues create conditions for learning and knowledge transfer. There are great opportunities to use your knowledge and experience to further develop the operations' working methods together with your colleagues. Learning can occur in many ways, and all students are different and have different needs.

Your Competence

Teacher education with qualifications and certification for grades 6-9 in home economics. You are well acquainted with the school's governing documents and can apply them in daily work.

We place great importance on your interest in participating in development work, your ability to collaborate and communicate with students and guardians.

As a person, you are calm and place great importance on building good relationships. You see collaboration as a prerequisite for a good work environment.

You have the empathetic ability to understand students' needs and meet them where they are, as well as to listen, encourage, stimulate, and challenge them to further develop.

Teaching in home economics at 100%.
