Social Worker for the Child and Family Unit
The Child and Family Unit is developing and we are now looking for you, a social worker for our reception unit with experience and interest in working with children, parents, and families within social services in Krokom municipality. Welcome with your application!
Welcome to us!
At Child and Family, 15 social workers, two senior social workers, and the nearest decision-making manager work together. We are divided into reception functions, interventions/implementation, investigation, and family law.
The legislation we base our work on is primarily SoL and LVU. Working with us involves a significant amount of collaboration with both internal and external partners.
The Social Administration's Individual and Family Care (IFO) is organized into four units; Child and Family Unit, Adult Unit, Open Care Unit, and Labor Market and Integration Unit.
Within the social administration, we have a strong commitment to providing children, youth, and families with the support they need to develop and thrive. Right now, we are looking for a social worker for our reception unit – an important role where you have the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives while developing in your professional role. As a social worker, you work closely with citizens and are offered a varied and meaningful job. You meet people in difficult life situations and from different backgrounds, which requires a professional and respectful approach.
The social administration consists of 600 employees, and the breadth of the mission is extensive. The administration is divided into five operational areas and is present throughout the municipality. Here, we are responsible for providing care and support, assistance, and health and medical care to citizens in need, at all stages of life.
Your Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include:
- Receiving applications and reports of concern regarding children and conducting safety assessments.
- Meeting children and families and working with children aged 0–18 years.
- Collaborating with schools, police, and the region to ensure appropriate interventions.
- Being out in the community to inform about the support that social services offer.
- Handling preliminary assessments and case management according to applicable guidelines.
- Working in a partially acute-driven operation where the pace can be high.
- Conducting planned activities even outside office hours to build trust and strengthen the relationship between social services and citizens.
- Documenting cases, for example, by creating decision-making materials and case notes.
- Collaborating closely with colleagues – you often work with a colleague on cases and receive support from the senior social worker.
The social services are currently undergoing a transition to new legislation that entails an increased focus on early and preventive interventions. For us in the reception unit, this means that we are increasingly working proactively and creating bridges between citizens and social services. This allows us to be more present in the community and work towards long-term, sustainable solutions that strengthen individuals and prevent the need for interventions in the future.
What We Offer:
- A positive and supportive work environment where you have the opportunity to develop both professionally and personally.
- Flexible working hours to balance work and personal life.
- Meaningful work where you truly contribute to the community and the well-being of residents.
- Opportunities for continuous development in your field.
- Exciting and inspiring tasks.
- Possibility of vacation exchange.
- Wellness allowance or wellness hour and benefits portal.
Your Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we are looking for you who:
- Have a degree in social work
- Have experience in authority work with children and youth
- Have a B driver's license
Experience with the following is an advantage for this position:
- The operational system VIVA
To thrive in the role, you are a person who is driven by working closely with citizens, even in the field, and is passionate about making a difference in their everyday lives. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working with both colleagues and external partners. We see that you have a humble and respectful attitude while being clear, communicative, and confident in yourself. You find it easy to analyze and understand issues and can express yourself very well in both spoken and written Swedish.
