Personal Assistants Wanted at Östersund Municipality
Do you want a job where you can make a difference while having fun? Welcome to Östersund Municipality! We are an organization with big visions and our hearts in the right place. We are currently looking for two personal assistants for our pool who want to contribute to a better and more inclusive society.
About the Job
As a personal assistant in our pool, you will support individuals with disabilities in their daily lives. You provide support and assistance to our citizens and contribute to their quality of life and independence. Currently, we have 14 citizens receiving personal assistance, ranging in age from approximately 4 to 80 years, with various disabilities. Your tasks will vary depending on who you are working with, from helping with daily activities to accompanying them on outings. Working hours vary depending on who you are working with and include day, evening, sleeping on-call, weekends, and 24-hour shifts. As a staff member in our pool, you will have the opportunity to create your own schedule and also receive a salary supplement. We are looking for someone who has a heart for people, is flexible, and can jump into different situations without losing their cool. Variety is our second name!
Common Tasks
- Personal care and support. You contribute to the individual's social, emotional, and physical well-being.
- Be a reliable communication link between the citizen and their environment.
- Follow the individual implementation plans that the citizens have.
- Document work digitally (so yes, you need some computer skills).
- Collaborate with colleagues, relatives, and professionals to ensure the best possible support.
Your Qualifications
Requirements
- Experience working with people.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Driver's license (B) and access to your own car.
Meritorious
- Education as a nursing assistant or support assistant – but if you have other relevant experience, please reach out anyway!
- Understanding of and experience working with individuals with disabilities - perhaps you have experience working as a personal assistant or in healthcare?
- Experience documenting digitally.
We Are Looking For You
We are looking for a reliable and stable person who wants to ease the daily life of others. As a personal assistant in the pool, you need to be flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances. Primarily, you will work independently with the citizen in their home, and therefore you need to take responsibility for your tasks. In this role, it is beneficial if you are proactive in suggesting activities.
You will collaborate with various teams, citizens, their relatives, and other professionals. Therefore, you need to be able to work well with others and communicate in a responsive manner. Building and maintaining relationships is also something you excel at. You also need to have the ability to understand and be responsive to the citizen's perspective and situation and act in accordance with what has been agreed upon. You know where the line is between being personal and private while maintaining a professional approach towards the citizen. When stressful situations arise, you keep your calm.
Other Information
As work with children is involved, a criminal record check must be submitted.
Probationary employment may be applied.
How the Recruitment Process Works
Interviews may be conducted on an ongoing basis. We ask that you attach your CV and cover letter to your application. You do not need to send certificates/transcripts at this stage. We will ask you to provide those if you are invited for an interview.
Östersund Municipality has considered the choice of advertising channels before posting this ad and therefore requests no calls from recruitment firms or ad sellers.
