Barnahus is looking for a municipal coordinator

Barnahus is a collaboration between the Prosecution Authority, the Police Authority, Region Jämtland Härjedalen, and all eight municipalities in the county: Berg, Bräcke, Härjedalen, Krokom, Ragunda, Strömsund, Åre, and Östersund. The collaboration between different professional roles provides combined knowledge and competence.

Barnahus in Jämtland County has developed over the past five years to become the most important collaboration forum for children and young people when there is a suspicion that they have been victims of crime, such as witnessing or experiencing violence or sexual abuse. The aim is to ensure that every child who is affected receives the best possible, professional, and cohesive support and response, both in the psychosocial and legal processes.

Children and families coming to Barnahus should be offered support and treatment based on their needs as soon as possible. The assessment of what help can be provided is done in collaboration with social services and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Child interviews are also conducted in the Barnahus premises by specially trained interviewers in the field.

At Barnahus in Jämtland County, there are two coordinators, one employed by Östersund Municipality and one by the Police Authority. We are now looking for a municipal coordinator to take over the baton from the current municipal employee coordinator.

  • You should be able to meet children and their families in difficult situations in a good way.
  • You should clearly and proactively continue to develop the operation together with the other coordinator.

  • It is advantageous if you have any form of relevant further education in the field, such as Signs of Safety.
  • Personal suitability is highly valued.
